Introduction:

The best way to describe this game is to say one word: PONG! Flipshot is kind of like the illegitimate offspring of Tennis where you have to bounce a ball backwards and forwards and your aim is to take out all the targets behind the other player.

Gameplay:

Each match is played in the same sort of style as a fighting game. You select a character and then battle through a series of games that are played across three or five rounds. Each character has his or her own special move that can be performed by pressing A as you deflect the ball, although none of these makes that much of a difference. The only other difference in the characters is that some seem to be faster than others. Anyway, the game is simple and very easy to pick up.

Graphics & Sound:

There isn't much to be said about the graphics apart from that they do their job perfectly. Each stage that you play on looks different depending on who you are playing against, but other than that the graphics aren't fantastic and couldn't really have been any better in this type of game. The sound in this game is quite nice and the music suits it well, although there are only really a couple of tunes that are the same on each stage.

Overall:

Flipshot is enjoyable, although it can be quite hard to play against the computer at times, because it has a habit of letting you hit all of its targets apart from the last one, which it then protects extremely well which makes it hard to win. Put this game into two-player mode though and it really does rock, with matches being fast, furious and above all, GREAT fun.

This game is very simple, and probably not to everyone's taste but is definitely worth checking out if you are in need of a change of pace.

Bang Bead
The sequel to Flipshot and VERY rare. MVS only, no home cart.

Wind Jammers
A similar game to Flipshot, but better in my opinion.
