Introduction:

After an extended playing session of the excellent Metal Slug games and The King of Fighters '98, I thought “wouldn't it be nice to play a rubbish game for a laugh?”. Enter Eightman. Well, as people often say, be careful what you wish for because I think I got my wish. I'd never seen the game before, and suffice to say, it is not very good!

Gameplay:

Eightman is basically a platform game where you simply run from left to right killing bad guys along the way. At the end of each level you fight one of the very unimaginative bosses. You have a standard punch/kick attack and a special move that causes lots of damage. That's about it. I really can't think of anything else to say about it, because there isn't anything else to say. The game feels as if it was thrown together very quickly. You would be lucky to get more than 10 minutes enjoyment out of it in my opinion.

Graphics & Sound:

The graphics are nothing special either. They consist of very plain and boring backgrounds and characters and the animation is also bad too. The same thing applies to the music, which is very forgettable. There are very few sound effects in the game either and they get repetitive.

Overall:

Overall, I wouldn't advise that you play this game at all. Its not the worst game available for the Neo Geo (that award probably goes to Legend of Success Joe or Power Spikes 2) and admittedly it is very old, but a crap game is a crap game whichever way you look at it!

Legend of Success Joe
Another horrible early Neo Geo title. So bad it's almost good! :)
