Review 1 - by Greg Nye

The first game to appear from SNK's and Capcom's Alliance, Cardfighters Clash is not the type of game you'd expect to get from two fighting games companies. Especially a game that at first resembles Pokemon on The NGPC, However, this (Thankfully) proves to be false. First off the basics: You play as one of two characters who are out to win the CFC Tournament, you start off with a basic deck of 50 cards and are told to win six special coins, in order to enter the final against your rival. So far, so familiar, But, to dismiss this game as that, would be a Big mistake...

The first thing you notice are the graphics. While wandering around the map, the graphics look colourful, and recognizable, while when you see the actual Cards... Well, prepare to be blown away by the quality! It's quite frightening to think how long it must have taken to draw all of these great cards! All of them look brilliant, and when you realise there are 300 of them, well you realise how long it must have taken. The actual game itself uses a great system. When you challenge someone, the starter is decided randomly and your cards are dealt from your own deck. The starter then decides who to bring in from his own deck, he can choose anyone he likes from the hand he was just dealt, but it requires a bit of thinking to decide who you bring in. Cards are decided by two factors: BP and SP, BP is strength. Dhalsim has a BP of 400, while Geese has a BP of 1600, so Geese is the stronger card. While SP decides how many "Super" Points are brought in (More later on that).

Players then decide on who to bring in on each turn, and whether to attack or not. The whole idea of these Card battles, is to take away all of the opposing players BP, to do this you need to attack with your own cards, however your opponent can choose to block your attack by sending out one of his own cards, which will kill one of the two cards. For example: Ryo (BP 900) Attacks while Ryu Alpha (BP 500) Blocks. Ryo does 900 damage so kills Ryu, while Ryu does 500 damage, taking Ryo down to 400. Things get more interesting when Super power is introduced which allows you to use certain abilities (Kill any opposing card for example) and to use team-up attacks. Along with Super Power cards which also allow you to do some other cool things in battle too. Of course, they all require Super Power, which is brought in when you bring in anyone with an SP ranking. "Phew". As you can tell it sounds complicated, but it's not. Honest!

Although battling is great fun, there is more to the game than that. Collectability is a big factor as 300 cards will take a long time to collect (Took me 2 months!)And although you get cards for each victory, you'll need someone with the other version to get them all. Other Version? Yeah, this game comes in SNK or Capcom versions... Both are the same game really, they just have different cards and a slightly different storyline in them, but if you can get both, do it. Its nice to have both anyway J So... Best NGPC game ever? Almost... It's the most addictive game on NGPC for sure... until you get all of the cards that is. Sure, its gonna take a while to get all of them, but when you do, the only reward is some guy telling you how cool the link cable is. Thanks mate... Anyway, that's the only flaw the game actually has, as its easily one of the best games I've ever played, if you see it going cheap anywhere, then you've gotta get it. If only too see the awesome artwork. So great Graphics, Great Sound (Check out the Forgotten Worlds Music!) and awesome Playability and Lastability. Can't really go wrong can it?
