Review 1 - by Kazuya_UK

AoF3 proved to be a pleasant surprise for me, having played the previous 2 games and finding them good games, but not rating above the rest of the fighters on Neo Geo. This game however is a nice upgrade of the series, with smoother and much slicker graphics and a more "controlled" zoom effect, which by the way I think is a pretty cool feature in it's own right.

The backgrounds all have small animation, like a sign moving in the winds or crowds cheering for your opponents. Sound effects are nice too with impact sounds, though not a lot of variation in them, they supply an O.K. feel of fighting, the music was average and did not really stand out in the game.

The moves and combo's are all very nicely displayed, helped by the very smooth animation of the characters. The moves were not to hard to master and I think that you really could get into some serious action within an hour or so. The game has 10 selectable characters, most from previous games, but a few new ones as well, I especially like the little fat guy with the mountain gear, he can really mess with you.

The conclusion is that SNK has provided a much welcomed facelift to an otherwise O.K. series and I hope to see a new edition sometime in the future, cause the AoF series is suddenly a very serious competitor to all the other fighting games out there on the Neo Geo.
