  Newsletter posted

Just a quick note to say that the latest edition of our newsletter went out on Friday. Gradually more members are subscribing to it, which is great, but if you aren't on the list yet, you can easily subscribe by clicking the button in the panel to your left, just below the random screenshot! You do need to be a registered user, so if you are not already, please register. It only takes a couple of minutes at the most! :)

The newsletter is sent out once a week (on a Friday) and is basically a round-up of all the previous weeks SNK news, along with a few other things, so if you don't get he chance to check the site every week, this is a convenient way to have all the updates delivered to your Email inbox! The more members that subscribe to the newsletter, the more I will work on it. In time I hope for it to include much more content than it does currently (including advanced previews of site updates), but that will have to wait until more people are subscribed to it.

Last Hope For Sega Dreamcast Impressions

Just a brief update. A member at NTSC-UK has posted some brief impressions of the Dreamcast port of Last Hope on their forums. His general impression is that the game is definitely worth the asking price. To read the forum post, go here:

Jukebox Additions! (Post Updated 9th Feb)

Well... I finally managed to fix up the Jukebox script! It wasn't broken per se, it still played just fine, but I couldn't get into the admin section to upload new songs. After a little while playing with it I got to the bottom of what was causing that issue and I have uploaded some more tracks for your listening pleasure!

Thanks to one of our members, Catseyes H Sandhu. I uploaded a bunch of MP3's from the game Ragnagard. The vast majority of people out there would tell you that Ragnagard is not the best fighting game out there, but it does have some very nice music. Load up the jukebox and have a listen!

I also added a couple of other random tracks that were suggested: the USA Sports Team theme from KOF '94 (OST), and Mickey Rodgers theme from Art of Fighting (AST). Thanks to CO9207 and Kusanagiflame for requesting those MP3's - keep the requests coming in and perhaps help me with the MP3's as I don't have them all so it's difficult to satisfy everyone! :)

I added some more tracks! Raidens theme from Fatal Fury is now online, along with an assortment of World Heroes music. Happy listening! :)

SNK Playmore Site Update For 8th February 2007

SNK have updated their site as usual. This week brings the following updates...

  New Poll

It's Thursday, so it is time for a new poll! This weeks poll asks:

"Metal Slug Anthology for the PSP apparently uses bootleg roms in its code. Is this an issue for you?"

In case you missed yesterdays news post, Metal Slug Anthology for the PSP uses emulated versions of Metal Slug 1-5 (with Metal Slug 6 being a PS2 port). This was to be expected really as SNK has a habit of doing this, but it also seems that Metal Slug 5 uses bootleg roms from the original emulated dump of the game that was released on the 'net. How this happened is a bit of a mystery, but there seems to be a lot of fuss about it right now. Some people are not particularly bothered about it, while others are more than a little annoyed at SNK.

What do you think? Do you think this makes any difference? Do you only care that the game plays OK, or do you think that SNK are lazy and/or unprofessional? Vote in the poll, and let us know what you think in our forum thread! You will need to be a member to vote, so if you are not already, please register (for free, we don't charge here :P) by clicking this link!

Previous Poll:

The last poll asked "Do you want to see Andy Bogard make a return to KOF?". I'm pleased to see that the majority of people on this site would like him back in KOF after his omission in KOF 2003 and KOF XI. Only a couple of people stated that they didn't want him back at all, while about a quarter of the people that voted were indifferent and didn't care either way.

All I can say is.... I WANT ANDY BACK! :D

  Metal Slug Anthology For PSP

Metal Slug Anthology for the PSP is now available to buy in Europe. I think I am going to order it from, who are doing it for £29.99... although I have seen it going cheaper on Ebay if you fancy trying there. also have the game in stock for the same price and with free delivery if you use the 'super saver' option.

PSP Version... Emulated?

As a side note, I have been reading that Metal Slug 1-5 on the PSP version of Anthology are all emulated (not unexpected really), and further still, the roms for Metal Slug 5 that SNK used on the UMD are from a bootleg version... which is odd to say the very least.
