  Samurai Spirits Sen Videos
A bunch of new movies showing Samurai Spirits Sen in action have been posted on Youtube. This game has been somewhat forgotten at times with everyone eagerly anticipating every bit of KOF XII info that comes out, but personally I am still looking forward to playing it. It's had a lot of negative things said about it, and of course I would prefer to stick with the 2D games (and you all know which one in particular i mean! ;)), but I'm still interested in it.

For more videos, head to Kouhatsu's YouTube page, as there are many more along with some other interesting videos. Thanks to Cyberfanatix for the tip! Survey

While the site has been upgraded, with the new theme and other additions, I still think it is important that we continue to make improvements to it. I know everyone has ideas on ways to add to it and make things more interesting for visitors, so I have created a quick ten question online survey that people can complete. You don't need to be logged in and it's all anonymous, unless you want to leave a a nickname/email address so that I can contact you back.

This will help me in adding to the site and in getting a better idea of what people like and don't like. I would really appreciate it if lots of people took the time to complete it (no more than 5 minutes), and I will post the results here in a week or so. Thanks all!

UPDATE: Just in case the javascript popup above doesn't work, here's a direct link -->

  New Poll

I have added a new poll panel. This one is hosted elsewhere but it allows anyone to vote including visitors who aren't registered. I've done this as I'd like to let anyone vote, although I'd still encourage everyone to register and login to the site... we'd love to hear from you on the forums! :)

I have added a poll about what game you would like to see in the future. Vote on it to the right! -->

Cyber Lip - Game of the Week

Our Game of the Week starting today is what some consider to be a classic title.

Back in 1990 it was definitely an impressive looking game and the large amount of speech was quite surprising at the time. I do know of a few people that consider it a classic, but I must admit to not being one of them. However I am going to give it a another try during the course of the week, so come and join us in doing the same, then post your thoughts in the Cyber Lip forum thread! We also have a high score challenge going on right now so if you think you can set a good score in Cyber Lip, take a look at our High Score Challenge Forum!

  Mai Shiranui Fan Service Figurine

It's a bit of a slow news time right now, so I figured I'd post about this great looking figure I saw while looking at Kotaku earlier. It's based on the version of Mai Shiranui in KOF Maximum Impact:

Definitely fan service at its best! (or worst depending on your view) The bad news is that the cost of having this piece of art adorn your shelf is 16,590 yen, or approximately $178 according to Even if I was still buying any kind of models (and I don't anymore as I really don't have the space for 'em), I don't think I would want to blast that much cash on it, no matter how well.... proportioned! ;)

  Chat Meet

We'll be holding a chat meet this coming Sunday (December 7th). I'll be aiming to be in chat from about 6pm (UK time) onwards, and hope to see some of you in there! I'll be interested if anyone is in the mood to play some online games, either via GGPO (or similar), or perhaps some Xbox Live games like Samurai Shodown II, SF2HD. I'm also up for some Gears of War 2 or Halo 3 if other people are, so hopefully we can get a party together!

If you'd like to suggest any games to play etc, head over to the forum thread. Usually the chat goes on for a few hours so it will be around mid day/early to mid afternoon for most US people.

  The KOF Movie Will... SUCK!

Right from the moment a live action KOF movie was announced, the only thing I could really think of to say was "Why God why???". Video game movies are almost always horrendous (with a few noteable exceptions), so there was no real reason to think this would be any different. After hearing a few details though, I did start get at least some hope for it. It is being directed by Gordon Chan, and considering he was at the helm of one of my all time favourite movies, Fist of Legend (Jet Li), it did add a small hint of respectabilty to the proceedings.

However, now for the bad part. Here's a snippet of the supposed storyline:

"It also looks like the King of Fighters movie will introduce a new science fiction spin into the setting established in the games’ universe by following the surviving members of three legendary fighting clans who are continually whisked away to other dimensions by an evil power. As the fighters enter each new world they battle that universe’s native defenders, while the force that brought them seeks to find a way to invade and infect our world."

What the...? I wouldn't expect the film to be perfect, but that just sounds crazy. Anyways, according to, the movie has begun filming in Vancouver, Cannada on the 27th of November. It's set for a 2010 release, so we've over a year to wait to see if it turns out as bad as it sounds... I will, as always, try to keep an open mind... but to be blunt, until I see otherwise I am going to call bulls**t on this one! :)
