Samurai Shodown! - Game of the Week

After a break once again it's time for Game of the Week. This week we'll be taking a closer look at Samurai Shodown! for SNK's handheld system the Neo Geo Pocket. How well do you feel SNK's hugely popular 'katana battle action game' series translates to the handheld system?

Please check out this week's discussion thread, vote in the poll and share your thoughts about the game. If you don't own a Neo Geo Pocket why not give the game a try through emulation.

Metal Slug 6 - Game of the Week

Just at the series' 10th anniversary SNK Playmore decided to release its last big arcade realization of a Metal Slug title, this time not on the trusty Neo Geo platform but on Sammy's Atomiswave. Metal Slug 6 still makes use of the classic 1996 character sprites and adds two KoF veterans to the roster: Ralf Jones and Clark Still. In addition to that there were some new vehicles, gameplay features and new enemies, all to the satisfaction of a Metal Slug fan. Or, maybe not really?

Discuss the last "real" Metal Slug and if it's worth the series' splendid reputation. How well does it perform alongside classics like Metal Slug 1 & 3? I'll let you be the judge. And how about a High Score Challenge by the way?

Pocket Tennis Color - Game of the Week

Don't read any further if you don't know the likes of Roger Feder, Andy Murray or Serena Williams. What? No idea who these jerks are? Hm, then read on anyway. This week we're looking at SNK's / Yumekobo's only Tennis game in their entire video game library.

So is it any comparable to other popular tennis series like Mario Tennis or even Sega's Virtua Tennis? And I've got no idea if the game even has a Scoring system, but if you guys insist, we easily could organize a High Score Challenge.

Marvin's Maze - Game of the Week

Now what the hell is this game anyway? Has this even something to do with SNK's history? It's no wonder that Marvin's Maze isn't really that established in SNK's arcade library, nevertheless many players at that time considered it as a Pacman clone with a few additional features.

A shameless Pacman clone or an innovative remake by SNK with deeper gameplay? I'll let you be the judge. Discuss this and more in the according GOTW thread and maybe... ask for a High Score Challenge?

Gunlord - Game of the Week

The horrendously difficult Last Hope or the tumultuous Fast Striker were not your cup of tea? Then why don't we take a look at NGDEV's third addition to the Neo Geo library, a trusty Run 'n Gun? But before you're expecting a genuine Metal Slug clone be warned: This time it's more about exploring and collecting, everything with a touch of Eurostylish gameplay from the Amiga days!

Pay this gorgeous piece of MEGS some credit and join our discussion in our weekly GOTW thread. If you're lucky to own the Dreamcast or even the MVS/AES version of the game, then why not enlisting for a High Score Challenge?

Cool Boarders Pocket - Game of the Week

It's already cold outside and snow is slowly dominating the landscape. And with fresh snowfall the winter sports season is about to begin as well. So why don't we take a look at the only Snowboarding game for the Neo Geo Pocket? Grab your board and find out if this game does merit to the real thing or its other installments on the PSX...

You know how it works, discuss it and tell us how much you love/hate this rather rarely seen NGPC title. And if you want to put your virtual snowboarding abilities to the test, demand immediately a High Score Challenge!

The King of Fighters 2003 - Game of the Week

It would take 10 long years to bring an end to the KoF series on the Neo Geo, a home console / arcade hardware originally released in 1990. Since then the series gained a huge popularity and was considered as one of Street Fighter's biggest competitors. SNK Playmore paid tribute to the franchise by releasing The King of Fighters 2003, the final KoF developed for the Neo Geo.

Let's discuss the game in our weekly discussion thread, according to customs. And why don't we ask for a High Score Challenge for the very last The King of Fighters released on the Neo Geo?

I never really go anywhere, I just don't have much time to post or so other stuff. Especially having a new baby in the house. My daughter is kinda named after a Capcom character... :$
