We members and readers can happily look back on our long lasting tradition that the GOTW is, and today marks the day of presenting the 150th Game of the Week. No question, a game representative for SNK's Neo Geo is needed. And almost no other Neo Geo game was similarily attention attracting and influential than Fatal Fury's ninth installment...
Now seriously, this week's GOTW thread and game deserves a special dedication from us ordinary mortals. Even if you think that MOTW is a tad overrated, you can't deny it marks a milestone in SNK's developing history. By the way, a High Score Challenge is now up and running, waiting for daring challengers...
Dough, bucks, cabbage, juice, cash or simply money. Call it like you want, the first thing that comes in mind when hearing about Kizuna Encounter is the ridiculously high value of the game's AES PAL/EURO version. But value and money aside, how well aged the actual game through all these years? Is it still any good and worth its reputation?
Clearify that and other questions in the according discussion thread and tell us what you think about Kizuna Encounter. While we're at it, we could also conduct a High Score Challenge if there's any interest among fellow readers and members. Please leave a post or send Priest a PM if that's the case!

Gururin - Game of the Week
Now what's that? Again one of these obscure, forgettable Neo Geo titles as Game of the Week? I can't deny this week's GOTW indeed is a less popular game of the Neo Geo library, but I can't say it wasn't innovative for its time. Check out our description to see why...
You know the way the cookie crumbles, take your time for a little discussion and share your opinions about the game in our traditional thread. As always, a High Score Challenge is not ruled out. Leave a post with a remark or send Priest a PM that you're interested!

Dive Alert - Game of the Week
This week we're gonna take a look at another Neo Geo Pocket game, this time from the house of Secnoth, the company behind Faselei! or Koudelka. It was in the golden age of the Neo Geo Pocket around 1999 that the two version of Dive Alert were released, known by the second titles Matt's Version and Becky's Version. If you ever wondered how a submarine role playing game for the NGPC would look like, then you might give this obscure title a try...
Ever heard of the game or even played it? Then put in your two cents and tell us about it. Because of the brilliance of regular Neo Geo games we sometime forget the obscure gems released for the little handheld brother. A High Score Challenge for a Role Playing Game is quite doubtful, but if anyone of you really insists to conduct one? Why not?

Ragnagard - Game of the Week
System Vision... Which video game developer was that again? Known for few SNES titles like Chester Cheetah or Deadly Moves, they approached SNK's flagship hardware in 1996 and made diligently use of their pre-rendering methods. With the help of Saurus they eventually released the fighting game under the name Ragnagard, or as Shin-Oh-Ken in Japan.
Ever played this one? Don't let the graphical presentation fool you and give System Vision's only contribution to the Neo Geo a fair try. On this occasion you could perhaps demand a High Score Challenge as well, what speaks against this?

Battle Flip Shot / Bang Bead - Game of the Week
1998 was indeed a good year for our Neo Geo, great titles like The King of Fighters '98, Last Blade 2, Blazing Star or Metal Slug 2 hit SNK's console like a bombshell. Of course there were other, less attention-grabbing titles that came out in golden '98. Visco, mastermind behind Breakers or Neo Drift Out, almost secretly brought out a competitive game in the tradition of Pong, just during that golden era of the Neo Geo...
As you may realize I covered both Battle Flip Shot and its pseudo-sequel Bang Bead in this GOTW thread. Although there are some differences between both games, they are still obviously similar to each other.

Guerrilla War - Game of the Week
Another pre-Neo Geo game by SNK? And with no less as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara as main protagonists in it? Released in a time when the Western world still was in Cold War with the guys behind the iron curtain, it seems quite ironical that Guerrilla War actually made it to the United States and furthermore was quite successful.
Have you already played SNK's arcade hit about the Cuban revolution? Do you think portraying real historical, controversial persons as video game protagonists is a good idea? Discuss it in our traditional GOTW thread and think about a High Score Challenge as well. It might be fun...
Riko, that may have been a side effect of a spammer getting deleted. It seems when they are removed the threads they posted in are knocked off the front page even if they should still be there.
The whole world is crying over Angelina and her amputated breasts, while in Syria rebels cut out hearts from corpses to eat them. And nobody gives a s***. What a brave new world.
