"When I was doing interview for Onimusha, another title I produced, journalist would always ask me if Capcom was going to develop Street Fighter IV. This caused us to think that this was the right moment, and we began production. I think this sort of thing could happen again with Capcom vs. SNK — especially if enough people wish for the series' return."
This of course, does NOT mean that the game is going to happen, but it does signal that it's not impossible. It could also depend on SNK's willingness to let Capcom use their licenses again, but I wouldn't think it would be a problem depending on the kind of royalties they'd receive. I'd really hope that Capcom would stick with 2D for it though and not go 3D, like Street Fighter IV. Only thing is, we'd all want it to have redrawn characters; I'd hate to see them use the same sprites they used way back in 2001. If they redraw everything though, with the large cast of characters in the game, it would likely take a hell of a long time to develop... look at KOF XII! So perhaps a 3D game wouldn't be out of the question?
Something to think about anyway... who knows, maybe Capcom is secretly messing about with CVS3 already and they are just teasing? Wishful thinking I guess.
