US or Jap AES
Kurisu
Being a new member of the Forum, living in the UK, but having a US NTSC AES with a collection of Jap games I just wondered;

(a) what's the general view on whether a US AES with English text outweighs the advantages of a Jap AES, e.g are there a sufficient number of "censored" Jap games that make having a Jap AES the better option? I have to say I am perfectly happy with my US version at the moment. My Jap Dreamcast, Saturn and Megadrive give me sufficiemt Japanese practice for now!

(Cool are there any "blood" cheats, other than through the options screens, that give you red blood through my set-up above?

Thanks in advance.

You could always get a uni-bios installed, although you'll need someone wioth good soldering skills to do it. Once installed you can swap at will between jap/us mode, as well as arcade/home console mode, and there is a cheat engine that will let you enable blood too. That is probably your best bet imho, it's just a little bit of a hassle to get your console modded that's all Smile

I was in a similar situation having a US AES and Japanese games and in the end decided to buy myself a Japanese AES and have used it exclusively ever since. Like Kaz says it is not a bad idea considering getting your AES modded but for me personally I prefer not to and just keep it as it was originally intended. Having Japanese text in games doesn't bother me at all and with a lot of fighting games if you ever want to read the endings in English you can of course change the language in the options screen.
