Rank the R-Type Games from Best To Worst
Rank the R-Type games from best to worst (out of the ones you've played)

I'm a big fan of the original R-Type, it's pretty much perfect for me. The only bad thing I will say about it, is that some of the later bosses and levels slightly disappointing compared to the earlier ones.

1. R-Type (Played the Amiga version for years which is pretty good, and then eventually got the version on Playstation 1)

2. R-Type Delta (actually really good game-play wise but I'm not that enthusiastic about R-Type being in 3D)

3. R-Type 3 (Felt fresh with the mode 7 levels, slightly weedy graphics though)

4. R-Type Leo (a good schmup and beautiful looking but it doesn't feel that much like R-Type)

5. R-Type 2 (For me this was a real disappointment, basically a workman-like update of the first game with less-inspired enemies and levels.)

6. Super R-Type (Hard to place, it's better than many people say it is nowdays but yes it has slowdown!)

7. R-Type Final (Never played it but looks like it plays in a less-immediate way. Not sure it's for me.)

I would love to contribute to the forums with a list, but I've only played R-type (on arcade and on PC-Engine), so my answer is pretty useless.

I do like Pulstar, but that doesn't count even if it is kind of R-type Smile
The PCE version is a great version. I think the only obvious difference between that the arcade is that it scrolls vertically to fit everything in

Tbh you only really need the original R-Type. It's one of those games where the sequels don't improve on the original!Thumbs Up
