Returning to orbit...
Never left the community, just had to slip back into the shadows in 2016 while the wife and I planned and executed a cross-country move from Connecticut all the way out to Washington State in the beautiful Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. Once we’d happily settled into our new home, I attempted to log back in to the NGFL forums only to find that my password no longer worked and due to some kind of technical snafu, I couldn’t change it via email or successfully contact the admins here to do anything about it. I have no idea what the issue was so I just gave up for a while. Tried the process again yesterday and this time, fortunately, everything worked as it should. Good to be back! Sooo... what’d I miss?
It's always great to see faithful users like you comin' back, so cheers for doing so! Thumbs Up Glad to know you were able to settle down happily.

In fact it's been really quiet for about 6 to 12 months, with even some of the formely very active members only showing up rarely. I guess this is mainly due to the lack of any news about Neo Geo and Retro Gaming in general, and my occasional Game of the Month posts aren't exactly enough to keep a huge community up and thriving.

But hey, a few weeks ago even long-timer Kaz showed up again! In my opinion the Neo Geo is still the console / hardware / platform I always return to, no matter into how much work or other video games platform I entangle myself. I'm convinced it's the same for others and that sooner or later discussions will flame up again so... stick around! Smile
Haha, no worries, I’m not going anywhere. We’ll see what future event reinvigorates the passion and activity within the community! I agree that it’s probably only a matter of time before it’s buzzing once again. Grin
Good to see you back Chiba. Hope you are enjoying your new home in Washington state. Are you still playing Neo Geo?

I'm like Murikov. Neo Geo is still the pinnacle of 2d gaming for me. I don't have much time to play games now so I'm not so interested in modern games. Sometimes I don't even get through the tutorial before I spit my dummy! I just want to start playing

Welcome back!
A bit quiet didn't miss that much.

Hey there, RiKo and Cthulhu! Yeah, I’m still spending more time playing on the Neo and Dreamcast than current-gen systems. I also find only limited windows for gaming these days which makes selections from my AES library ideal. Sure, I wish I had more time to invest in Dark Souls 3, but it’s simply not there (and I have just as much fun playing Shock Troopers, anyway).
Looking back over the decades, it’s interesting to note that with the last several console generations, I’ve ended up buying games in progressively lower frequency. Of course, this doesn’t apply to “retro” acquisitions which make up the majority of my purchases these days. “Old > New” has kinda become the general rule for me.
The Neo represents the pinnacle of an era of gaming I hold in the highest regard and its games still look and sound pretty damn impressive today (no rose-tinted glasses needed). It’s a console that has aged exceedingly well.

Good to be back on the forums, be they quiet or not! Terry
I understand the hiatus. Sometimes life just eclipses all this. Glad to see you are alive and well. Time flies. Hiya, all old droogies, I hope you all are doing well.

shot in the eye
shot in the brain
shot in the ass...
Yeah, all I can say is...welcome back (Sonny) Chiba, lol.

Also, glad to see you're posting back again 2D, lol.
