Raspberry pi

Do any of you guys use a raspberry pi?

I Bought a pi zero week or two ago set up a few emulators and they run really good considering it's a £5 Linux computer hyper street fighter 2 15th anniversary works 100% no frame skip.

Have yet to try neo games accept mslug3 it didn't load but I expected that.

Any thoughts maybe useful for cheap 1 game cabs

I got given a Raspberry Pi a few years back but never even opened it. I sold it last year. Think it's great for people who want to make their own computers or electronics though.

I think for me there was nothing I wanted to do that needed a Raspberry Pi.

Shame you didn't open it , you missed out on some fun.

Well I got every neo game to work on the pi zero so for a £5 computer I was impressed. Ordered some sanwa parts found a old bit of window cill/moulding (live in a building site atm ) and made a stick. Awaiting few parts a sound card and a hdmi to vga dongle so I can make a rgb scart lead as I have a few rgb tv's sitting here. If that works I'll build a mv1-a mini red . Would upload a picture but can't be arsed with the hassle ngfl has with upping pics from a iPad so 1999 Smile

Thing is I already have a Neo Geo and a PC for emulation/coding so there's nothing I wanted to do with it. I was learning to code the Neo Geo (just amateur stuff) but I'd rather learn how to code an old system like that rather than a new one. Sounds cool if you have a project in mind like yourself though Thumbs Up

I find it interesting there is an ongoing (physical) magazine dedicated to Pi.

And while I do appreciate and support the ingenuity of western designers, this thing is a solution to a problem no one is having. I would assume virtually anyone interested in the consumption or creative sides of Pi already has one or more devices capable of consuming/creating. I don't create, so as a consumer, if I want to emulate I'll just use my computer, or connect my Ipod to a TV.

With that said, the price is amazing, even for a poor writer like me in a first world country. If marketed right, I could see this taking off in second and third world countries where many people lack any kind of computing machine.

I have them all too riko but you know me I like to tinker with thing's,

I always trying new things it's more about the journey for me. But your both right you have to have the mindset of looking at something and thinking what else can I made it do. I was the sorta kid who took everything apart I destroyed my classic Mac like that when I was a kid but I did grow up to be a mechanic so all good.

I just think cost wise and like shion mentioned it do have some noble thinking it's just a Linux computer but could make a difference in other regions. But to us its a novelty but we're really ain't there market its the kids and people who don't have fancy equipment.

But simple answer were all right Smile
