I recently played on a friend's 3DS XL and was quite impressed with the bigger screen. So at the moment I am thinking seriously about upgrading my original small 3DS to a 'New 3DS XL'. I'm worried Nintendo will bring out a new model as soon as I do this though!
Also for ages I've been considering upgrading from my Xbox 360 to a PS4 but I still don't see anything on either PS4 or Xbox One that is good enough to give me the final push. There's a lot of good games for both systems, but they still seem like upgrades on the previous-gen games to me. Tell me if I'm wrong
-------------------------------------------------
How about you guys? Arcade hardware is included too!

According to Neogaf discussions, the new Nintendo system(s) are due out soon. I'm no analyst, but I don't think a new 3DS is planned.
Riko, I'm not telling you to buy a current gen system, but I was really surprised to find out you still haven't purchased any. |

Realistically it's going to be the NX, or whatever it ends up being called. I firmly believe that it'll be some sort of console/portable hybrid using small 3DS style carts for its physical media. They could even go one step further and use amiibo to hold the full game data, or at least access a d/l from the eshop.

I do need someone to give me reasons why I should get one because I'm not that enthused at the moment. I just have so many 360 games I haven't played like GTA5, Bioshock 1+2 , Dark Souls. All I ever seem to play when I go on is Ultra SF4 online. I just like the fact that there's no downtime in it (no walking around pressing 'X' on everything). I'm quite into older/retro games at the moment so that could be why. I'm sure somone said the best game on PS4 was the remake of The Last of Us. So I'm still toying with the idea of buying a PS3 with a load of games

I think Nintendo have to step up this time and I think they will. I thought the Wii U was a terrible idea. Don't get me wrong it's a good console with some good games but all the features Nintendo thought would sell it - it was clear to everyone else they wouldn't. Even that Aliens game with the motion tracker that everyone was so excited about - I seem to remember it turned out better on other consoles.

haha one of the advantages of having kids I guess, you can buy a new console and pretend it's for them Would be interested to see what you think of it Vas versus the PS3 when you get a few games.

May I suggest UltraHDMI as it apparently cleans up the fuzzy video output, more than you'll ever get from RGB.
And why an American SNES? Are we talking the hideous original or the rather nifty redesign?

UltraHDMI seems to have an upscaler inside the N64. I like RGB because my BVM monitors are super. If I decide to connect digitally a framemeister is the best.
I would buy the original Snes just to play Earthbound, Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger. |

Ultra hdmi is a scam Sd ... A n64 cannot provide more than rgb ever anything else's attached to it is then just a digital process ... An not native .
On another note ps4 arrived it's bad ass , also seems as the free games that are provided works by emulation and not remaster . So ps4 has a ps2 emulator made by Sony that actually gets you 60fps it's quite bad ass again. So I say within a year you have ps1/2/3 backwards compatibily
I will post some pics later |

You got to remember that you had different standards back then that aren't compatible with newer generation of TV and Monitors. Just keep in mind that all things being equal it's not the same. |

Not sure what you are on about but I remeber them standards are the same today as they are now that the whole idea behind standards. The actual hardware of a n64 can only output it's native resolution video standard being ntsc or rgb it makes no difference you add to the signal via external means it's no longer native signal. Because it has been intercepted In between messed around with and sent to the tv.
Being the 64 has the worst quality in games and video signals of any console I everowned I wouldnt piss on them , scratch that I would. |

Whoop! I finally got my New 3DS XL. Liking it so far with the bigger screen and the tracked 3D works great even when I'm wearing my glasses. Just makes the 3D seem a lot more solid because it doesn't disappear when you move your head too far like it did with the older models. I do feel like I need some better games on my 3DS now though...

While I had bought before you the new 3DS XL looks like that you tell your experience first!
I haven't unsealed mine yet!
Great purchase! |
