Arcade games collection

Thanks Beret. It's a fun game with great music Wink None of the home conversions used the isometric view so it has something unique. You can have three players but have to hook up the third one seperately I think.

I'd have no chance replacing the battery myself without butchering the board. I've heard Caius does good work but I usually send my stuff to a guy here in the UK. Postage to Italy would really add a lot to the cost. Our postal sevice is just a rip-off. Buying boards in from Europe though is no problem.

It says on the title screen the game was designed by Michael Jackson himself but I found this comment on a YTube video about the game. Might not be true but funny if it was.

My brother actually played the Moonwalker arcade cabinet in Michael's personal arcade in Neverland Ranch many years ago. He was invited there to hang out for a day along with the other kids in his school. The funny part is he told me he didn't even really know how to play the game, he kept going in the wrong direction.

What a strange comment! The funny thing of Michael's story and I have read it a lot is that he was saving kids in the video game just to have them for later Grin
I don't believe he was a boy lover though but this is funny anyway! I love his songs and when I was a kid I was his fan for sure.

If you can send the board in UK it's super! Who is he, Vectorglow? Have you sent it yet?

haha yes it was asking for it a bit to have him rescue kids in his videogame. I'm definitely on the innocent until proven guilty side of the argument. A musical legend for sure.

I haven't sent Moonwalker yet. I was going to send my CPS2 games first but I just found out they can be fixed if the battery runs out now (without phoenixing them). That's a great development. I only hope someone figures out how to do it for Sega System 16 and 18 games soon. There is no way to replace the battery on those without cutting the chips open, which is a shame.

The guy I send them to is on Jamma Plus called IronGiant but he might be called Vectorglow on other forums. http://www.jammap...cps2-fixes He is based in Wales. He fixed my Prehistoric Isle and Ghouls n Ghosts for me.

Wanted to share something I found out recently about Capcom CPS1 games : if you run them on a CPS Dash A Board (which has a faster CPU) then you reduce or remove any slowdown. They are still synced to the display so they don't run too fast - just smoother. Joe

(Finally) managed to get a UN Squadron PCB. Took me over 6 months to find one. I didnt know they were so rare. I went for the US version just because I wanted it to say UN Squadron on title screen. You lose the hidden mission though on the US version

UN Squadron (Area 88) and Final Fight wereactually the first two games I bought for my SNES back in 1991. Good times Joe

AWESOME find, honestly! I think this is still one of the finest Beat 'em Ups out there, plus it has all the hidden Super Moves the World Version is lacking. Thumbs Up

One day I would like Undercover Cops too Thumbs Up great purchase Cthulhu. I never understand why there are so many bad versions of arcade games. Metamorphic Force is another one where I think only the Japanese version is worth buying.

Exactly the reason why I didn't think twice about buying the Japanese version of Metamorphic Force when I finally found one, it is so much better with a normal life bar and all the other differences.
With Undercover Cops it feels like they made the U.S./ World version first and perfected it with the Japanese version and then they updated the U.S./ World version with Alpha Renewal.

It’s a great game Riko! Thanks for sharing the tip with the dash A board! Your collection is growing fast.

Great buy! A very rare pcb! Happy gaming. I have ended up with a pristine condition of the World version. It may not have the secret moves but girls’ tits are still there, so ok!

I also want to share with you guys what has happened to me the last couple of months. I decided to sell my Ghouls n Ghosts to have some cash. The game was too difficult for me anyways. A guy from France bought it through Jamma + forum. I sent the board and when it entered France it stopped its tracking in the French airport. After a month there I took a response from French post that the game was lost. I ended up fully refunding the guy for 500€. The case didnt go to PayPal from the buyer because after starting delaying I promised the guy a full refund if there was a loss. Too bad for me I didn’t insure it and for this I will only take back 50€. Someone stole the gameAngry

Everybody insure the games through the post office.

I always use my creditcard through Paypal. That way, I'm insured via my creditcard and I can also use Paypal when things might go wrong.
All purchases using my creditcard are automatically insured.

The guy in France said the same. He told me to send him proof of loss from my post office to provide to his card insurance. He may then send me back the money. I am still waiting this proof from the post office.

This is a real bummer. Sorry to hear Beret. I sold my Fast Striker MVS to a buyer in US for a large amount of money recently and I gave the buyer 2 options - either insure for full amount or write a signed declaration to say if the item is lost or damaged in post that it's his responsibility. He chose to insure for the full amount. It's difficult though - because you put potential sellers off from buying with all the extra costs.

Sorry to hear you had to sell G + G. It's one of the Capcom games with adaptive difficulty. Depending on the dips, after a set time (not very long) the difficulty keeps on rising every 10 seconds. So the longer you stay alive the harder it gets.

I may buy the Jpn version sometime eventhough it's a really difficult game and it could be used mostly for collection purposes. I didn't know about that adaptive difficulty setting!!! Sounds bad!!

Here is a Game room tour. I hope you like it!
Attention though, I am amateur in video recording!!

You can tweak it but not turn it off completely. Great way to make money for the machine operators though...

I think Strider might have the same adaptive difficulty too but I could be wrong on that.

Very nice! Thumbs Up I like your SFC games and all your MVS Kits especially. I only one full kit which is Garou. Nice storage solution for your arcade boards too

Thanks for watching Riko! About the storage solution, my main table where the supergun is on has also a lot of room beneath. Enough to keep the gigantic Primal Rage, a CPS 2, a CPS 1, a Namco system 256, an Oriental Legend kit and a couple of smaller pcbs. Next time I will show it too! Unfortunately due to the space sortage by using a 55" Oled, I cant install the 14" BVM too. It could play simultaneously with the other 2 monitors using analogue signal.

Sounds good. I keep my pcbs in a lot of boxes at the moment! Your games room is really nice. Will you ever get an arcade cabinet for it?

Unfortunatelly it's very difficult to import a cabinet in Greece. If I were in Uk or Netherlands (like you) I am sure I would have one already.
I really want a Scud Race cabinet but it's almost imposssible to fulfill it for the above reason. Another reason to keep me away is that there are a lot of parts (not only a board) for a full scud race and high possibility to buy a damaged unit.

RiKo
That's tough. I remember a guy I spoke to in Finland who wanted an original Defender cabinet and he said there were only 5 in his country and he almost no chance of ever getting one. Hopefully one of the cabs you want will come up for sale in Greece at some point.

---------------------------------------------------------------

I catalogued my arcade board collection. I'm really happy with it. I have to thank you guys for pushing me over the edge to make the decision to finally buy a supergun. There's probably only a couple of boards I still want.
