I want the Japanese version and I just can't find one...maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

You can find the US version and have someone replace the roms for you and make it Japanese.

Caius in arcade otaku can make such mods

I'll stick to my search of a Japanese PCB...I don't like mods and rom swaps.

Good times! I finally got my MAK Strike and now have my first arcade PCB (Double Dragon) hooked up. Thanks to Merlin for helping me with a load of noob questions I had. I still need to buy a wire for the -5V line to get sound on the Double Dragon board but otherwise is working perfectly. (Seemed a lot harder than I remembered!)

i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr45/RimShot69/20161115_213810b_zpswku5gluh.jpg

I do have a few other (great!) arcade boards but I'll add them to my humble collection here when I check they are working.

Nice start to your PCB collection RiKo. Thumbs Up Hope you can get the sound working soon. Glad if my advice helped a bit. I'm still learning too.

I haven't played Double Dragon arcade very much but always enjoyed playing the first two games on NES. I heard if you just constantly use the elbow smash move in the arcade game it's not that difficult to beat on one credit. Might be a little boring playing like that though!

Could use some of your expertise guys.
Below is 3 Wonders, bought it a couple of years ago and I'm in the middle of appraising values to the collection.

So the first question should be, is it legit? I suppose so, but because of all the different 3 Wonders PCB's I'm not 100% sure. Can anyone indicate how much it's worth?

Feel free to clck on the image to enlarge it. Thanks!

Sensi I'd wait to see what the other guys say but I think it could be a conversion from another Capcom game. Board number (90629B-3) matches this game http://www.arcade...p;id=85241 Its probably worth covering the windows on those chips with opaque stickers. If it was an official Capcom conversion they probably would have put stickers over those themselves. What do other people think?

Conversions still seem to sell quite well though.

Here are what board numbers should be for original Three Wonders http://www.arcade...mp;id=2883

Thanks Merlin. I love it, although the original arcade version does have a few issues wth slowdown. Apparently some of the boot leg versions run on faster processors and don't have so much of an issue! I realised the dip switches were set for the hardest difficulty option - so that's why I was so bad at it. *phew*. Yes using the elbow all the time is a bit joyless. I like to think I use it when it looks stylish to do so Wink

Sensi I am sorry to tell you this is actually a conversion from another CPS game. The roms don't have stickers or the Capcom logo is not write on them

This is how an original looks like

I agree with RiKo and Green Beret about it being a conversion. Sometimes you see a legit CP System game with a few Capcom EPROM stickers missing but why would all of them be gone. Here's a similar one for sale described by the seller as a 'bootleg':

http://www.ukvac....36282.html

I don't want to own any conversions but some people don't mind them. If it doesn't bother you then I would just keep it. Those three games are still three of the best games in your collection. At least they're running on original Capcom hardware rather than some kind of bootleg board.

Here's a useful list of different versions of CP System games and which B board they use:

All your CPS copies are clean and fully original! Great CPS1 collection!

Thank you so much guys for all the info and insight, really appreciate it!
It was the first PCB I bought (97 EURO from Legend.HK) and didn't know of conversions.

So it's safe to say the serial# on the board has to correspond with the links Merlin provided? If so, it's a fast and easy way to check. The ROMS on the board don't look genuine, so they were mine biggest concern. Looking at the photos from Green and Merlin, it's a whole different story. Thanks guys.

It also explains why the game has some sound issues when booting up. When it runs, it plays fine though. I hate conversions. It's after Street Hoop (MVS) the second and final bootleg in the house but I will keep them both.

Guys , your collections are wonderful. Some great titles to have, although I played mostly console versions of them. Dolphin Blue cool to have Green, the only Atomiswave title I'm still looking for.

Dolphin Blue is a unique and great run n gun. Go after it, it's very fun to play

Thanks Green Beret. Pleased with my little collection. Something that did worry me was when someone at the Arcade Otaku forum said my Dynasty Wars is a conversion because of one chip being different. After a debate with another member they concluded in the end that was probably due to a repair. I feel confident it's not a conversion.

Sensi yes that list shows which B-boards each game uses. Three Wonders uses either 89624B-3 or 89625B-1. I suspect an SFII was used to make your Three Wonders.

Sellers really should clearly state if they're selling a conversion.

One other thing worth remembering is that some conversions have 'fake' Capcom stickers on the EPROMs.

Although it's disappointing that it turned out to be a conversion I hope you can get still get a lot of enjoyment out of those three awesome games Sensi.

I have put much time searching and thinking about arcade conversions. About CPS1 there are too many occasions that there are one or two Capcom stickers missing and replaced either by Capcom (with non Capcom sticker) or by users. BUT if 95% is original then you don't even have to worry about the model number of the B board. Most CPS1 games have 8 long 27C4096 EPROMS usually on the front side of the B board, which have the initials of the game printed on them. For example "KD" for King of Dragons or "PS" for the Punisher. "CD" for Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Please zoom in the picture in the link to see "CD" printed
http://mvs.gotwal...bb_top.jpg
If those EPROMS are original, no need to worry.
A second thing is the name of the game on a Capcom sticker on the small C-board. It's better to be there but if not it doesn't mean it's not original if we still have all other stickers original. In some instances those stickers may have fell or not put there by Capcom in the first place.

Some Japanese CPS1 boards don't have the 8 27C4096 EPROMS with the printed initials on them but have instead a lot more smaller EPROMS with Capcom stickers on them. Make sure 95% of them to have the original Capcom stickers on them. Example

These are my PCBs so far. Very happy with my little collection.

Ghouls n Ghosts (USA)
Strider (USA)
Double Dragon (USA)
Prehistoric Isle in 1930 (USA) (no sound yet but really like this game even so)
Altered Beast (USA) (no sound yet, possibly dead battery)

i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a566/RichWatMov/20161128_223605b_zpsji5zjzdb.jpg

My house is a mess right now (Selling lots of old stuff on Ebay), the picture quality on the TV is very good just my phone camera makes it look washed out.

Got the -5V hooked up so the sound is now working on Double Dragon Joe

Great collectiom! Your Ghouls n Ghosts is original and is worth a lot of money Smile I have the same version as yours

Thanks Green Beret Thumbs Up Ghouls n Ghosts was probably the game I wanted most. It did cost me a fair bit though. I did some research first to make sure I got a genuine version but I was worried for a little while by how clean it looked. Since then I found an older picture of the same PCB (from 2015) and it has been cleaned up a bit since then.

Got some issues with it at the moment though (doesn't always work) so trying to find out what's wrong. Hope it's something simple

Very nice collection RiKo. You made some good choices. I like Strider the most out of those. Hope you can find a solution to the G 'n G problem.

cthulhu
Very nice collection you have there Rico. I also hope you figure out what the problem with G 'n G is.
Don't worry about PCBs being cleaner that you would imagine them to be. I have some older PCBs that look like new, some people just take very good care of their stuff.

One more addition to my collection, I just bought a GŨketsuji Ichizoku (Power Instinct) PCB...great game!

Try to swap a mother board to your Ghouls n Ghosts. Use the one from Strider. The motherboard is the "A" board. I hope it will fix the issue for you. "A" boards only cost 50 euros if you need to buy another. If It is not the A board then you have to send the game to an expert to see if it can be fixed.

What is the problem?
