Hi Everyone from Denver, CO.

I'm on the facebook page already, thought it would be high time for me to join the forums.

Owner of a partly working MVS that I'm trying to get fully functional before starting my next project... a CMVS. :-)
Welcome! A partially working MVS? what's wrong with it?

Hi Cthulhu!

@MVS: Well, that's what I'm hoping to get from this group other than finding people with the same obsession with archaic hardware that I have. ;-)

I got my MVS cabinet over a month ago. It's my first one. Had problems with the video and the sound. The images were really muddy, adjusting the flyback did nothing. Also the sound would constantly cut in and out and was hardly audable (couldn't make out much).

So, I did a cap and flyback replacement on the monitor in the MVS. I also replaced the audio caps on my MV-1 motherboard. The sound was much much better.

This revealed some other problems that weren't fixed...

1.) The audio cuts in and out. When it's working, the audio sounds spectactular, but then it cuts from normal, to low, to really loud.

2.) The screen goes from being normal, to a white hue, then to a yellow hue. Restart the MVS, It's back to being clear again!
I don't know if there are that many people here with that kind of technical knowledge...I only know really really really basic stuff (replacing CPS2 batteries and stuff like that). Maybe also ask around at Arcade Otaku? There are a lot of knowlegable people there.
But when it comes to people obsessed with old consoles, you've arrived at the right place.

It's all good. I figured I'd ask the question in an area of the forum that may have people watching with the expertice.

Shame to hear about your cab.

Gotta ask what games you currently have for MVS.

Hope to see you around.

Welcome to the site, thanks for joining! Joe

Hi Roshambo. Welcome aboard. Hope you can find a solution to those problems with your MVS board. Would be worth asking in the tech support section of the forum too.
