2020 Super Baseball - Confused by Soft Dip Switches
Hi all,

As a kid I used to play this up at my local corner store. I never knew how to play it very well but always enjoyed it. So, recently I purchased a copy on MVS. Being an Australian, I don't understand baseball that well, and I'm a little confused by some of the soft dips.

Namely, the "Play: 22 Out", "Continue 1P: 22 Out", "Continue 2P: 22 Out". The values are editable, but I have no idea what they mean. Can someone please explain?

Also, regardless of what I make the time limit, I've noticed that sometimes the game over screen appears, seemingly for no reason, while there is still time on the clock. I'm sure there's some aspect of baseball which is causing this, which I'm simply unaware of. Anyone?

Thanks in advance Smile

Although I'm no Baseball expert, I presume the Game Over screen appears when the match is almost over? I think it only does appear when you don't have the possibility to win the match anymore.
For example when you're (batting)team has '3 out' at the last inning.
I can't help you with the dip settings, I have only the AES version.
Thanks, but unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the case, or at least not wholly. Unless I really don't understand the rules of baseball. The game over screen appears very early on, say in inning 4.

If I've set the game time to 30 minutes, I'll often still have 20+ minutes left on the clock.

Any other ideas?
Pale, I will fire up 2020 Baseball (AES) soon to play some games and test it out.
It seems to me that you get game over when the time runs out, or when the number of outs in the game equal the specified number. It would be nice if you could make either the time value or the out value infinite, putting the outs to 22 and game time to a low value ensures that you game over only from timing out. Game over for time and number of outs may have been good for arcade operators, but it's slightly annoying. Anyway, enough complaining, it's still a good game.
