for a few years I've been trying to buy a convertor for my AES system to reduce some of the big prices on certain Neo Geo Games. I know that there are 2 types of convertors for the Neo-Geo: The Phantom-1 Convertor and the Super MVS convertor. Problem is, which one is better?

From What I know, The Phantom-1 is cheaper but it doesn't play all the recent SNK games which is not too bad but, the convertor looks really thin from the photos I've seen and looks kinda unsafe to put your MVS Carts on. If anyone can show me a video of it in action that would be great.

I know that the Super MVS convertor can play all your games and looks a little more sturdy but I'm wondering how much these ones cost since they are better than the Phantom-1.

So, which one is the better?

-if you respond, thanks!

I own neither but from what I know the Super Converter 2 costs about $280 new, it's a lot easier to slide your carts into (I hear the phantom is bad in this area), and that most people seem to prefer it. I know a couple of members here have converters though so I'm sure you'll get some first-hand opinions on the matter.
If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.
ok thanks. nice sig.
I use a phantom 1 myself but it's inside a sawed-off AES case so I have no problems putting it into my system.
Raiken: A "sawed-of AES case" you say-Very interesting
I donŽt suppose you have a picture or two to show us?
Now which cart should I sacrifice. Well I could go for Fatal fury special (I think most of you know by now how I feel about this title).

As for the compability of "Phantom-1" It takes most of the MVS carts only a few of the newest cart that it wonŽt run.

IŽam quite satisfied with my "P1" as it runs most of my MVS carts. And I can really recomend buying one to everyone else Grin

Used with the kind permission from their creator "Shiny"
Just for the safety for my Carts, I'm starting leaning towards the Super MVS Converter 2
Don't have any pics I'm afraid. I got it off ebay awhile back. The guy even smoothed out the cut end so it wasn't rough at all.
Don't know if this reply is too late or not but I'd go for the Super MVS Convertor II. Yes it's a little pricey but build quality is top notch and it plays EVERY MVS cart out there, whereas there are some the Phantom can't handle.
