Well if it's any consolation, I've never heard about it until today.
I love it, but I didn't make a thread about it because people around here unjustly shit on Mortal Kombat 9 so I figured any talk about why Nether Realm's follow-up is good would be ignored. It is incredibly over the top, yet controllable to the average player in a way that the MVC games never have been. Then when you dig below all of the insanity it's still very technical as well. It's similar but still very different from MK9 in many ways. The best comparison I can think of is that it's like going from playing SSF2T to Darkstalkers back in the day. Sure, you know the basics right away, but there's a lot more going on that you're going to have to learn to play effectively. It was recently added to the line up for Evo this year and it's one of the games that I'm most interested to watch along with MK9, KOF13, and the Skullgirls side tourney.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy a new fighting game on day 1 anymore since I usually don't stick with them for long enough to justify the $60, but I still bought Injustice and absolutely do not regret it.

Also, nobody does single player in a fighting game like Nether Realm. No other fighter even comes close. The story mode in Injustice is incredible, and the Star Labs mode which acts as the new version of MK's Challenge Tower offers hours of replayability.
Mortal Kombat 9 was amazing! So if it's anything like that I'll totally buy it. I though MK9 was the best MK game since Trilogy.
Looks very nice and entertaining and like Mortal Kombat 9, it looks very professional. There's one reason why I won't buy this game...I love the characters, stages and I love the extremely spectacular clashes where someone gets knocked through walls, ceilings and even around the world, but it's also my problem with this game. I've watched quite a few matches and even though those moves are very spectacular, I personally think they disrupt the flow of the game (you have to wait until the animation is finished) because they sometimes just take too long to finish...I think I would love it a couple of times, but after a while it would really annoy me. I have to say that I haven't played the game so if those moves could be skipped, I'd maybe buy this game. Apart from this, it looks like a great deal of fun.

The stage transition moves are long, you're right, but I don't think they get in the way of anything. They're not much more excessive in length than watching an Ultra play out in SFIV, for what it's worth. For me, getting hit with one gives you a second to breathe and think strategy before getting back into the fight, assuming you survive. It's a unique addition and only time will tell if it's widely accepted. In any case, you can turn them off completely if you don't like them.

If you're worried about them getting in the way and making the game less fun I'd suggest renting it. That way you could see first hand whether or not they bother you without having to drop $60. Plus then you could at least play the story mode which, even if you're just a minor DC fan like myself, is amazing.
Good to know that, if that's the case I might buy the game later on. But for now I'm addicted again to buying Arcade games and the next one will be a bit expensive (Espgaluda II).

I've heard good things about it and I think it looks good too. I think it's designed to be more fun and accessible rather than overly technical. I just have too many good fighters already and havent mastered any of those! so i probably wont bother with it any time soon. It's something i might get eventually though....

Is it it me or are the energy bars too long? The video I was watching, fights seemed to go on for ages.
Mini-Reviews of films I have just watched :
Mini-Reviews of ZX Spectrum games :
Well the health bar is long but divided if you lose half of it you kneel and then stand up to fight again its like first and second round just without saying second round fight the fight just continues
The round system if very similar to Darkstalkers in that way. It's an interesting choice and I'm honestly not sure if I'd prefer a traditional best of 3 system or not.
