Which Five Arcade Machines Would You Own?
RiKo
Imagine there are no price or space restrictions. so you can have anything that you want, even a R360! You are in addition to the 5 allowed a 6 slot MVS arcade cabinet. Fill your boots!

I am currently going for

1. Space Harrier Sit down (Hydraulic)
2. Gauntlet Classic 1-4 Player fun!
3. Robotron 2084, my favourite of the early arcade games, challenging too
4. Outrun Stand up cabinet, i have to have Outrun!
5. Double Dragon played it so much it has huge nostalgia value to me

My 6 Slot MVS will contain Metal Slug 1, Art of Fighting 3, Blazing Star, Fast Striker, Last Blade 1 and Breaker's Revenge

Good topic Riko.

If I was going to have my own little arcade like this, instead of dedicated cabs I would go for 5 Sega Aero City cabs (1 with vertical monitor and 4 horizontal). They are really nice looking cabs. For the 6 slot MVS cab I would choose Breaker's Revenge, Samurai Shodown 4, Crossed Swords, Miracle Adventure, Twinkle Star Sprites and Dunk Dream.

Chiba3010
1. Double Dragon II: The Revenge
2. Phoenix
3. SF2: Hyper Fighting

5. Joust

MVS:

1. Fatal Fury
2. Samurai Shodown 3
3. Real Bout 2
4. Metal Slug 3
5. Magician Lord
6. Pulstar

Assuming the 6-Slot is in a Super Neo 29 Candy, then I'm happy. I'd like to try some of the more obscure games like Nightmare in the Dark or Super Dodgeball, stuff you can't easily get on AES.

As for the rest:

Point Blank - Because shooting random shit is awesome. Assuming you can run both the sequels in the original cab, I'd have those PCBs too.

Outrun 2 SP SDX - One of these badboys Headbang And yes, you're all invited round for a go....

Super Megalo 2 HD - A Super Megalo 2 with a 46" LCD attached to it instead of the original rear projection screen. Someone over on Arcade Otaku has done one and it looks incredible. You could do the same with a Neo50, that'd be an awesome project.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - I really don't like woody cabs, but this is the one exception. I've wanted one of these since I was 11! Both the Turtles games are great, I'd also have a few other 4-player PCBs like Simpsons, Vendetta, X-Men etc. to go in there.

I'm not sure about the fifth choice... maybe an Egret 29 as it's a very unique design and I like it in blue. A Neo Geo SC25-4 would also be cool, again a very unique looking range of cabs. A Sega Aero Table is quite a tidy looking unit too. Hmmm... Not sure.

But anyway, I have plans to construct a Virtual-ON panel for me Black Storm LCD cab, so I'd leave that in place. And I've decided to TATE the monitor in the Astro for some shmuppery. Beard

Cthulhu - dont forget an original Pong cab! some nice cabs there, whats going inside your Astro Citys? and Waku waku - very nice Smile

Merlin - dont forget your games in your cabs too. I guess you can change them? but what would be your first choices? I like you went for Breakers Revenge too!

Chiba wrote :- 1. Double Dragon II: The Revenge

5. Joust

Good choice on Space Harrier Chiba! and Joust, i like that too Smile

ha cool used to have that in a local bar that was packed, was always too chicken to have a go in case i was crap - which i prob would have been.

SD - Outrun 2 is indeed awesome. Probably better than the original as a game although i think the original had more impact at the time. Tobalman wanted Teenage Turtles too, those 4 player games are always a bit special as cabinets and as games. i think that X Men one was huge.

The vertical NAC would get some nice Cave games and if I had to choose only one, it would be Guwange.
The horizontal NAC would get all systems I have except the eX-BOARD, but again if I had to choose only one game it would be Asura Buster.
The Blast City would get the eX-BOARD, a NAOMI and a RingWide (for Chaos Code), but again if I had to choose only one game it would be Daemon Bride (awesome game and still one of my most played Fighting Games).
The Aero City Table would get one of the Puzzle Bobble games.

And Yes, Waku Waku 7 is still one of my favorites...I even bought the Makaitaitei Fernandeath shirt.

Good to see you also picked the awesome Breaker's Revenge RiKo. Headbang

I'm going to change my mind and choose one dedicated machine to go with 4 Aero City cabs. If space and money were no object I'd go for an OutRunners cab which is my favourite arcade racer. Yes I would swap games every so often in the Aeros but if I had to choose a game to use most of the time I would go for:

Knights of the Round
The King of Dragons
Magic Sword
Varth

Riko, the TNMT is iconic here in the U.S. It represents great things. (Not sure what the reception was there in the U.K./Europe) I love big ol' wooden/metal upright cabinets. Not only do they look and feel solid, but I would assume they hold up longer than plastic cabs. I want my Neo-Geo cab to be an American one with original HAPP/IL parts! Grin

I like that you chose Robotron Daraku, such a good game, and ultra hard too. I was lucky enough to play Dragons Lair in New Zealand (of all places) when i was a kid. I actually did think i was controlling it!

I think those are good choices Cthulhu, i havent actually played many Cave games, but i know you are a big fan. I have DeathSmiles on my 360 that is the only one so far.

And Yes, Waku Waku 7 is still one of my favorites...I even bought the Makaitaitei Fernandeath shirt.

I love Waku Waku too although i always opt for the slightly boring choice of Slash when i play. That was one of my fav games when i first got the system. Animation is especially good. I know Powerwave (god rest his soul lol) is a big fan too.

Merlin - I think we have sim taste in games sometimes cos i know i would like Outrunners and those Capcom beat em ups too. And yes you can have the 2 player Outrunners cab! although without the little kid from that vid distracting you Smile

It was huge here too. I used to be able to do a great Shredder impersonation. Sadly though they changed the word 'Ninja' to 'Hero'. So it was Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Apparently Ninja was too dangerous a word for kids over here. Also over here we had a random ban on nunchukas being used in anything - whereas things like swords are fine! so i think they had to cut out that. In Europe throwing stars have a similar ban so god knows what kind of sanitized version we were watching. But we still thought it was great. Maybe we watched it for the dialogue Wink

I have seen the TMNT cab but I never played it in the arcades althogh i do remember the SNES game which was very good.

Yeah Tempest is great... I'd like to see a fan build a Tempest 2000 arcade cab.

I used to have that on my Jag. I miss my Jaguar a little bit now:( I am a big Space Giraffe fan too. I say stick that in there too. I like it when it starts to get freaky and the screen distorts and the score starts dancing. I think a lot of people hate it for that reason though Smile
