Musical instrument sets / sound chips in video games
What are some of your favorite musical instrument sets ( or should I say "sound chips" ) in not only home video games, but also arcade cabinets like Capcom's, Konami's, Taito's, Data East's, etc.? Even some Neo-Geo games have different sound chips.

If you like 8-bit, be more specific like "NES Capcom" or either "Sega Master System PSG" or "Sega Master System FM". Even some high-tech ones like the "Goldeneye 007 / Blast Corps" BGM sound alike.

I've always been fond of the sound chips on the Sega Genesis. They were a bit more difficult to use than some game developers were used to, but when used properly they have a unique sound that can't be matched anywhere else. Soundtracks to games like Eternal Champions, Wonderboy in Monsterworld, and of course the Streets of Rage series would never sound as good if they were done on different hardware.

Also, it's hard not to mention the Gameboy if you're fond of music in 8-bit games. To most it sound just like an NES, but the addition of stereo sound makes it so much better for me.
