Well, it's been a long while since I bought a Neo-Geo game and now I'm happy to say it's not an AES game it's obviously MVS.
I got Fatal Fury 2, 3 Count Bout, and 161 in 1 with this cabinet.
I've been wanting an MVS for some time now and did not want to settle for a CMVS. I just happened to come into some cash and knew exactly what I wanted to buy with it.

It's in pretty good condition... needs a bit of work (hard to see in the pic). Also I turned it on today and the monitor began to shoot sparks. Not happy about that. Now I have to try and figure out what the deal is with that and pay more for parts/and or service.

So it's been a while since I've posted here, since I sold most of my AES Stuff. But I'm doing better financially now and am restoring a Sega Blast City (Nearly back to stock, need to get a Marquee printed and movestrip then its 100%!).
I've started collecting Neo Geo again but this time, MVS. So far I've got;
MV1FS Motherboard w/ KOF 98;

Next up were a collection of games I got over a 2 week period;

And then this morning these arrived;

Pretty happy I was able to find Last Blade 2 & Mark of the Wolves, as these are getting REALLY hard to find and are usually crazily expensive, but as they are my favourite games on the system I had to splurge a bit (was worried I wouldn't be able to get them).
So all I need now if KOF 94-97 to complete the KOF Collection I'll probably focus on the Fatal Fury series next as I've got the hardest to find now (Although getting RB2 will be tough).
Pretty damn happy as I've got back most of the games I had on my AES & More for a fraction of the cost.
Considering making up a CMVS with a Scan line generator for couch play, but the Blast City is more than up to the task
Cheers guys!

Welcome back Phexe! Good to hear you've been able to build up a nice collection again after selling off your AES carts. Congrats on getting a cab too. I'd say the most impressive part of your collection though are the four CP System (CPS1) games especially Knights of the Round and Strider. |

Thanks Merlin Yeah, those 4 CPS1 games were ones I really wanted. Strider has an odd music glitch sometimes which I've yet to fix

It's not just me though, is it...?
Whereby whenever you engage opponents with Kyo using his QC combo's, the game COMPLETELY grinds to a halt whilst it processes all those flames and embers?
It's f*cking annoying. Similar happens when engaging with Iori's multi-hit DP attack.
Doesn't do it on the PS2 or Saturn version though, which saddens me...

Fuckin' A, Ninja, mate.
My sarcasm detector just isn't calibrated for the likes of you.
Do you like '97 or are you shitting on it, under the table?

Essentially, yes: I'm shitting on it from under the table.
I have NO issues with KOF '97, per se, however, the slowdown present in the game whenever the action 'heats up' (literally) is a deal breaker for me when considering pulling it off the shelf to play it.
I am literally BETTER OFF playing it on non-original hardware via PS2 or Saturn. Haven't played the NGCD version, so can't comment on that.
Or maybe... just maybe, I have a *shock* faulty copy of KOF '97 that shits its pants everytime you engage opponents with KYO using QCF+C > HCB+C > F+C or QCF+A x3 or DP+C.
Try it out. Lemme know what happens

I know I've been a ghost around here, guilty as charged. Nevertheless, I wanted to share my latest acquisition...

My 1st Metal Slug game, pretty excited.

Full Kit Savage Reign:

Today I bought them from a 52 year old (school) guy. I had a appointment with him today for picking up Savage Reign, but he also sold me Metal Slug and Mr. Do for cheaper prices.
We talked a lot about Neo Geo and SEGA, because these two are still his great passion. No Sony or Nintendo for him. We played Michael Jackson's Moonwalker at the original Moonwalker arcade cab. The cab was in perfect condition and I believe it's extremely rare.
He gave me a lot of useful info and we had a great time.
It was awesome to see how a older family man still has 'the gaming fire', with the famous words; "a man has got to have a hobby". Amen!

Objectively, Samurai Shodown V Special is probably Playmore's finest achievement. It STILL has a solid tournament scene due to it's great balancing and is growing in popularity all the time.
However, KOF 03 is my favourite Playmore title, personally... and one of my favourite KOF's ever tbh.

Not Neo games but related hardware:

Modded 'old style' stick. Sanwa JLF ocogate, sanwa buttons, red ball top.

Frontlight modded NGPC.
