This for me personally is very difficult to answer. I would have to say my most played game is Fatal Fury so I'd also have to say my favorite.
Honorable Mentions:
Crossed Swords
KOF2K
Baseball Stars 2

I would say NAM 1975 would be the pick for me. I used the play it every day after school on my AES and got to be quite good at it!
Strikers 1945 Plus is right up there, Fatal Futy games, KOF games, the Slugs, Pulstar, Last Resort, blazing Star, Thrash Rally, Neo Driftout, most of the sports games...
Burning fight is also a super hit!! |

Always worth doing one of these threads every so often. I hope a few more people will post their favourite too.
In the past I've always said Samurai Shodown 4 was my favourite but now I'm going to go for Crossed Swords instead. Really love that game. I'm a big fan of fantasy themed games and I like the unusual gameplay style, varied locations and atmosphere. Traveling through the land of Belcana is an epic adventure. Wish I was a bit better at this game though. I tend to go through a lot of credits during a playthrough.
Honourable mentions:
Breakers Revenge
Dunk Dream
Kizuna Encounter
Magician Lord
Metal Slug
Miracle Adventure
Samurai Shodown 4
Shock Troopers
Twinkle Star Sprites
Zed Blade |

i like this thread, I always like it when people have to choose a favourite. It is tricky though....
I might change mine later because i find it hard to remember what games there are just thinking quickly . At the moment i am going to say my favourite game is Breakers Revenge followed by Blazing Star, i really like Fast Striker too, think it's one of the best shooters on the system.
my current top 12
1. Breaker's Revenge
2. Blazing Star
3. Fast Striker
4. AOF 3
5. Metal Slug
6. KOF 2002
7. Nam 1975
8. MOTW
9. View Point
10. Last Blade 1
11. Shock Troopers
12 Metal Slug 3
as for Nam 1975 (no.7 in my list) at first i didnt really rate that game much at first- average graphics and gameplay just seemed ok, but after a longer playtime, i really loved it. It's a classic i think.

Realistically how can I not go with Garou: MOTW? I may have other sentimental favorites, but MOTW is simply unparalleled. Hell if you dig up similar threads from the past I've probably answered differently just because MOTW seems like too obvious of a choice. But if you asked me what the best fighting game ever made is I would probably also have to answer MOTW. And being that the game is 13 years old that is really saying something.
Runners up: Last Blade 2, Waku Waku 7, Pulstar, KOF 2002, Metal Slug (just about any of them), Breakers Revenge...

Other than the Last Blades and MotW, which everyone knows are the best games on the Neo, I'd go for either Windjammers or Blazing Star.

Hmm... Well, if I'm going to go with the first Neo Geo title I really obsessed over it'd have to be the original Fatal Fury. Loved it in the arcade, on the Genesis and it was a mandatory AES purchase when I finally scored an AES system.
In terms of titles I've grown to love and keep coming back to, it'd be Real Bout Special followed by SS4.
Honorable mentions:
Pulstar
Ninja Masters
Last Blade 2
Shock Troopers
Metal Slug 3
KOF '95 & '98
Kizuna Encounter
Ninja Combat |
