When was the AES released?

Ninja Master Posts: 754 Joined: 06/04/2012 00:35	I'm finding conflicting information that I'm hoping to get a correct answer. I'm wondering when the Neo-Geo AES was released. I'm finding places that say it was released in 1990 where as games for the AES were not released until 1991. The only thing I can think of is the MVS counterparts were in arcades in 1990 but the home release did not happen until 1991. Does anyone have factual information on this? Also the mvs cabinet as I remember playing it was release in the same time Italy hold world cup 1990

Posts: 147 Joined: 10/13/2009 01:09	Neo-geo.com had a fairly extensive thread on this matter (had scans of a promotional listing and everything), and IIRC (though I probably don't), what they found is that the rentable home units did launch in 1990, but the AES wasn't available as a proper consumer product 'till July 1 1991, in Japan. However, the google site search isn't too helpful so the closest thing I could find was this post, by one of the thread's participant. Edited by Glowsquid on 06. June 2012 20:33
