I stared collecting for the NGPC again about 4 years ago. I built up quite a healthy collection of 22 games, and then I stopped for some reason. Everything got boxed up when I moved house (twice) and it stayed in that same box until I dug it out recently.
I had considered completing the UK collection a few times considering it's a relatively small number of games, and the overall quality of the software on the system is very, very good. There were 39 Colour games released in the UK plus 5 B&W titles, all in nice clamshell hard cases. I think it's one of the very few time where the UK versions of the games have ended up better than the US/Japanese versions.
So after all this time I've decided to go for it and complete the full set!
These are the 22 games I own so far:
[Insert picture here ASAP]
Biomotor Unitron, Cool Boarders Pocket, Cotton, Dark Arms ~Beast Buster 1999~, Faselei!, Fatal Fury 1st Contact, Gals' Fighters, King of Fighters R-2, Last Blade ~Beyond the Destiny~, Magical Drop Pocket, Metal Slug 1st Mission, Metal Slug 2nd Mission, Neo Geo Cup '98 PLUS Color, Neo Turf Masters, Pacman, Puyo Pop, Puzzle Bobble Mini, Samurai Shodown! II, SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash: Capcom, SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash: SNK, SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millennium and Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure.
To start the collection off again, I've just purchased another seven games: Baseball Stars Color, Crush Roller Pocket, Dynamite Slugger, Neo Cherry Master Color, Neo Dragon's Wild, Neo Mystery Bonus and Puzzle Link.
This brings the grand total to 29 out of the 39 UK released Color games, plus I still need all 5 of the B&W ones.
B&W
Baseball Stars
King of Fighters R-1
Neo Geo Cup '98 PLUS
Pocket Tennis
Samurai Shodown!
Colour
Dive Alert Becky's Version
Dive Alert Matt's Version
Evolution ~Eternal Dungeons~
Neo 21
Neo Baccarat
Picture Puzzle
Pocket Reversi
Pocket Tennis Color
Puzzle Link 2
Shanghai Mini
What is one to do about Pocket Reversi? They're not exactly very easy to come by, and when they do they're certainly not cheap. So I've decided to buy a loose English cart and make a reproduction insert using scans of the original. It doesn't have to be exact, just good enough to sit on my shelf. If I did ever come across a kosher copy from a trusted seller, I would consider it it the price was right. But for the moment a repro will do me just fine.
Anyway, I'll update this post as and when to chronicle my journey towards the complete collection.

I used to own a Light Blue NGPC back in 1999. Only bought one game which was Metal Slug 1st Mission. Great game. Then it suddenly died in the market I Kept the machine boxed up until 2006 then sold it with my Dreamcast for some stupid reason.
Last October one of my friends gave me another NGPC (Stone Blue one) with Sonic and SNK Vs Capcom MotM!! I've since bought Metal Slug 2nd mission and Puzzle Bobble. Its a great machine and i'm just glad I got back into it. Good luck with your collection!

I was amazed to find some of the games I'm looking for had shown up on eBay this past week. I knew they would eventually, but it's a nice surprise when they do.
I've just won Picture Puzzle, Neo 21, Neo Bacarrat and Puzzle Link 2. If I had the energy, I'd be dancing round the lounge right now.
So this just leaves both the Dive Alerts, Evolution and Shanghai Mini to go then. As well as the B&W titles.

IMPRESSIVE SD...
but if there's one thing I'll NEVER understand, it's completism in collecting. You just end up with 20 - 25% of shite in your collection!
Still... all the best with this mate. Would love to see a photo when you're done...

Wow, you actually got Pocket Riversi? That's a $500 game!

Time for an update I think.
I finally managed to get both the Dive Alerts a few weeks ago from the same chap that was selling Picture Puzzle, Neo 21, Neo Bacarrat and Puzzle Link. That's a total of 36 out of 39, but the last three were proving rather impossible to find.
This is the most recent picture I've taken of the 36:

Then something rather incredible happened.....
I was doing my routine nightly check of eBay a few days ago when I found a listing for a complete Pocket collection from someone in the UK! I immediately contacted him via email and we even ended up having a good chat on the phone. He wanted to be sure they were going to a collector and not an eBay scalper, which is understandable. We came to an agreement on the price and I drove to Birmingham on Sunday to collect them.
Now, buying a complete collection when I'm that close already is a little extreme I suppose, especially just for eight games. But the chance of actually finding those eight games elsewhere is close to impossible, especially the B&W ones. So I made a decision that this really is a one-time opportunity and I took it.
I now have a mint condition complete UK/Euro clamshell full-set of 39 color games, including Pocket Reversi. I also have the very hard to find Samurai Shodown! 2 cover variation and the considerably less rare Pocket Tennis Color variant. And to round it all off nicely, the five B&W titles, which I never thought I'd ever find.
If anyone's been wondering why my 36 Pocket games are up for sale these last few days, it's to offset the cost of purchasing the complete collection. I'll let someone with a little more patience (or less OCD, depending on how you look at it) continue on this mission.
So, is this the end? Probably not......
(pictures to follow at some point as everything is packed away currently in storage boxes)

Yeah, I was quite gobsmacked when I popped round the other day and he showed me this. I'm surprised it's taken him this long to post about it to be honest.
Well done mate.
Isn't one of only three known complete collections?
Now the complete home cart collection challenge awaits!

WHAT ARE...
the cover variations?
You don't mean Dive Alert & card Fighters do you? I thought they were 2 halves of one game?!
Is that not the case?? (i.e. is Matt & Becky's version identical?)
