Netflix, Hulu and other On-Demand Stream TV
Are you subscribed to Netflix or Hulu, or any on demand stream TV services? How do you like it thus far? WHat are the similar services offered in your country?

I've had Netflix instead of a cable subscription for a while (since I can only afford one or the other), and it works well for me, since I just want to get down to watching the TV show or movie I want, not caring too much about what's new and out there right now Pfft I just use the TV to watch something via Netflix or play on my PS3 than watch whatever latest show out there on TV right now anyway.
Well, I used to use Netflix and Hulu+ on the 360, but overall in titles and in quality, its good, but really depends on personal preference though.
I have been a Netflix subscriber long before they offered streaming video along with Dish Network since around 1995. Long before when I was a kid there when there were no Cable services at all and it was the big 3 networks here in the US [ A complete joke these days imho ] and even after they rolled out the 8 - 12 channels that made up Cable TV most people I knew couldn't get it in their area and either didn't watch a lot of TV or spent the dough for a K-Band Satellite.

My Step Father had a 12foot Echostar K-Band at his place that got all sorts of weird channels, it was a real hoot to search through all the Satellites back then since you never knew what you would see [ everyone knew where the Porn was of course lol ] now its just boring like every other modern convenience that has become the norm.

About a year or Two after Netflix started streaming I gave up my 4-6meg DSL and moved to my current house on the edge of a National forest with no chance of anything faster than a 2meg Satellite connection [ the costs border on the absurd above 2meg speeds ] worth it and there isn't enough daily bandwidth and too much latency to really enjoy a streaming service. As it is now I have as much as 1050Megs to use from 4am-11pm and unlimited use from 11pm -4am So the now free streaming video via Netflix and Blockbuster from Dish that is essentially Hulu are more or less useless to me though If the latency isn't a problem Im sure I could get a few hours out of either service especially Hulu since you can regulate the bandwidth.

In all honesty streaming video has never been of high enough quality to interest me and even today Its usually far from impressive even on the fastest connections [ no surprise since its always going to be limited bye compression and speed ] It can still be a great alternative to Cable or Satellite services considering its generally lower overall cost. Cable is such a ripoff here in the US it should be illegal but they have had their hooks into Congress for the last 40 years so its not going anywhere, yet another thing that points out just how corrupt and morally bankrupt the scum who actually make up our working Government are.

Probably going to dump Netflix now that they are not going to be renting games since that promise was about the only thing keeping me from the switch to the Blockbuster service now that Echostar owns it since its a better deal if you have Dish. Tried Game-fly but their prices are too high imho and there just aren't enough games I would be interested in to make it worth the money. I would rather take that cash and buy a game with it since there is always something floating around that I waited for the price to drop before picking it up not too mention all the stuff from PSN I already have but haven't played through or that I have interest in but haven't bought yet.

I spent most of the eighties, most of my life, riding around in somebody else's car, in possession of, or ingested of, something illegal, on my way from something illegal to something illegal with many illegal things happening all around me.

Netflix is pretty good, Hulu hasn't been doing so well imho, a few years back the shows use to come online shortly after airing, now with many, it takes like a week to be put online....Probably a rights thing, but annoying anyway.
