The PGM System & Games
Sensi
Well, the PGM board and the games are working flawlessly.
I have played them only 5 mins each, first impressions were good.
Demon Front so fluid, KOV (1/2), Killing Blade and Oriental Legend V205.
For side scroller beat 'm up games these games have a lot more text then usual.
Downside is the mono sound.

Tomorrow will arrive a new fan for the Atomiswave, so that one will also be more quite.
Have to play 3 Wonders some more to test if the sound is allright.
Thanks all for your help.

Good to hear your supergun and PGM games arrived. Demon Front is a fantastic game. I like the way you can use your pet in the game. Very surprising IGS never made a sequel.

What about Oriental Legend?

I think Oriental Legend is very good and well worth buying but the KOV games and The Gladiator are better side scrollers. It's nice in Oriental Legend that each character has quite a few special moves which you can do after charging the power meter. Also the team moves you can do are pretty cool and vary depending on the combination of characters. The bosses are quite large and impressive looking especially the rat king. Would be best to go for either the Plus or Super Plus version of Oriental Legend. The stage designs were improved slightly and they added a combo meter. In Super Plus you can play as the bosses.

A move list I found on a Chinese site:

I played 5 minutes Demon Front using just composite output. The game runs very very fluid. Reminds me of Metal Slug 3. I am waiting for the RGB cable to arrive so I can really tell my opinion. As far as have seen from youtube it's an awesome game. Bosses and especially the last one the dinosaur are fantastic. I really liked after the boss is down the animal leaving!

What about Oriental Legend 2? Is it a better game? They still sell it brand new!

I haven't played it but judging from videos I've watched and what people say about the game it seems like an excellent side scroller and a significant improvement over the first game and it's updates. I've heard it's a very long game with quite a few different routes.

Another member of the forum 'Salvio' owns OL2 and seemed to be very impressed with it.

That 'HK Legend' site I mentioned before often has some good deals on PGM 2 motherboards and games in their stock clearance section.

Hopefully it won't be too long before it's emulated. I really want to play it too.

Why by connecting PGM on the supergun picture leaves centre to go left? Atomis on supergun is almost at centre!
By altering horizontal phase option on my BVM picture goes in the centre but gets corrupted on the top of the screen.

My PGM doesn't output stereo sound unlike my atomiswave, both linked on the same supergun. It outputs only mono sound
Is this ok?

I do have a supergun but never used it with the PGM motherboard so can't help I'm afraid green beret. Hopefully someone else can give you some advice.

yes I M still waiting for feedback on this one.

As far as I know the PGM is a mono system. I've looked at the JAMMA pinout and only says Speaker + (pin 10) and not Speaker + and Speaker - (required for stereo). PGM manual: http://wiki.arcad...ual_en.pdf

Still waiting for my Sigma Raijin RGB cable to arrive to really see how PGM looks. It was shipped from Retro Gaming Cables on 2nd of October. Maybe its lost.
The problem is I can't find a plug 8 pin din U to make one.
I am trapped with composite

It's a little bit late, but I can confirm the PGM system has only mono sound.
So no worries.

Guys do you keep the PGM battery on the board or you have it removed? It is said to be very easy to leak

cthulhu
I'd say, rip that sucker off the board (or desolder the thing)! The battery isn't really useful, it saves system settings. The only thing without a battery is, that the cartridge is set back to default settings whenever you switch the power off.
I've removed the batteries from my Cave PGM PCBs (Espgaluda and Ketsui) and they still work great...still have to do my PGM mobo though, but the battery is only 1 year old so It's still quite safe from leaking.

Looks new but you can't really say. I will rip that sucker off.
Thanks cthulhu

With my PGM PCBs I did it the same as with my CPS2 boards...I cut the legs of the battery and then desolder the rest (I have a desoldering station). I think I'm going to do my PGM mobo tomorrow evening.
If you're not happy after the removal of the battery, then you could always solder a new one back in place and replace it every few years to be safe.

Yesterday I sold my Ketsui conversion cart. I made a great price and everybody wanted it.
Maybe in the future I will buy the original pcb if first I have found a tate solution. I ended up I don't want conversions in my collection.
Now I m starting to play my PGM games after I have received my RGB cable.

merlin
I feel the same way as you about conversions. I've never owned any. I would rather play a game using Mame than own a conversion.

The battery was removed from my PGM motherboard.

I will remove my battery too. I can't risk a destroyed PGM mobo and not to able to play so many great games!
