Can Playing One Game Make You Worse At Another?
Ive been playing Space Giraffe a lot recently and in that game you spend a lot of time purposefully ramming your craft into enemies to kill them...

however yesterday while trying out Last Hope and Fast Striker (both shoot-em-ups). a couple of times when i was on auto-pilot - i actually rammed my ship straight into the enemies. for some reason my sub-conscious mind thought this would kill them but not harm me! it ended badly...

so what 'learnt behaviours' in games have you found to be detrimental when you have (accidently) tried them out in other games?

Mini-Reviews of films I have just watched :
Agreed yes it can , even worse let me tell you a story.

In April 2006 in my previous job I was invited to an all expenses trip to Italy courtesy of Smeg ( Italian appliance manufacturer they make the big fridges ect). My sole intention was as I was just starting to hate that job and my personal life was a mess was to go and have a bloody good time. The trip was for 2 days and the only condtion was a day of trianing at the Smeg factory just outside Verona. The hotel was in Lake Garda and after the first day we were provided with a posh meal out and free drinks all night.
Now you gotta understand the rest. I recently dug out my Dreamcast and had just completed Shenmue 2 for the first time in 4 years ( Nov 2001 I think it originally came out). So I was in total Ryo Hazuki mode as I had actually enjoyed it more the second time round. The meal was great and I even ended up having a snog with the female Smeg sales rep in a bar afterwards ( keep in mind that all drinks were paid for by Smeg and I was more than abusing the privilege.
The next 6 or so hours are just so bizzare that you will think I am lying but so often the truth is stranger than fiction. So you are thinking booze ( er and I got some Valium before the flight as I am scared of flying and had some left over). The next chapter is just various images I can remember from that night but well worth me telling for comedy value but I am tired tonight and will leave chapter 2 for tomorrow , but believe me it is well worth reading and is the absolute pinnacle of hell raising.

haha i dont remember Ryo Hazuki going off the rails in Shenmue 2. if this was Shenmue 1 with the sailors i would be worried about Part2 at this point lol.

looking forward to part 2 Ste Thumbs Up and i love that a company is called Smeg. have they never seen Red Dwarf?

What a bunch of smegheads! Wink

Try playing any fighting game after a lengthy playing session on another game... it completely messes with your head and no matter how good you are at the 2nd game it takes a while to re-adjust!

lol just the other day I was blowing stuff up in GTAIV (147,000+Kills) and while trying to reload I kept jumping off buildings etc bye using the wrong button. Off the top of my head I cant think of what I had been playing to get the reload button mixed up but it was funny and frustrating at the same time Smile
I spent most of the eighties, most of my life, riding around in somebody else's car, in possession of, or ingested of, something illegal, on my way from something illegal to something illegal with many illegal things happening all around me.

haha yes switching fighters and control changes i would imagine cause a lot of problems. I know that these days i play with my FPS controls non-inverted but when i play Perfect Dark on N64 with a friend he always gets about 5 kills in before i stop looking up instead of down and vice versa. i refuse to change the options because i always think i should be able to handle the change without any problems.

Ste where's the rest of your story? lol
