Since Cat is not being "On Time" with GotW, I just want everyone not to miss out so that other members wouldn't want to complain, other then that, let's continue. (Sorry, Cat, V_V)
FF3 made a vast improvement in graphics, characters, and other stuff, but I wonder how it caters to you all, and BTW FF hasn't been in an GotW for a long while.
Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory
Genre: Fighter Players: 2 Size: 266 megs Released on: AES, MVS, Neo CD, PS2 (B.A. Vol.1)
Brief Description:
FF3 is the sequel to FF2/Special, and came out in 1995 from SNK, the story in this one is about the Jin Scrolls, whoever posses them will have the power of immortality, Terry and crew have returned with some old and new characters vital to the storyline, this also marks Yamazaki's appearance and relation to the story, the gameplay is more or less the same with 2 Punch/Kick buttons and the ability to shuffle "planes" in this game is still present. And there is more to it as well, but its best to play this to find out...

Stray, can you please PM beforehand at least. I had something else in mind. >.>
Cat: So did I, I've already PM'd you enough, but you keep turning me down. I already said I was sorry before I wrote this. (You probably didn't read it.), besides, some titles need to continue, while others will/may have to wait as well. Besides, I should be asking Kaz to approve on this too, as I really feel bored sometimes, and really need something to do.

Priest: Thanks for that...
Um, I hope you do realize I'm in charge here. Everyone wants a specific game to be GotW, that's why I make polls. but I also want to do different things sometimes. Why should you get a chance to do it when nobody else does?
(Off-Topic)Already Sent PM, and will probably be out for the summer, cause I've already have plans, other then that, I've seen that you've haven't done the "Official" Voting thread, not to be upset or anything, but I agree on your question and will stay away from it if i decide to PM/e-mail you. Gotta go now. (On-Topic)And yes, He and Billy/Mary would also appear in KOF 97 as well. As well as the Jin Bros. Appearing in NGBC.

THIS IS...
completely true, and thus my vote is: 'I'd rather play the other Fatal Fury games!'
Fact. I'd much rather play either ANY of the RB's > FF3 and indeed FF2 & FFSp too. The ONLY FF I'd prefer to play FF3 over is FF3 > FF1 - although that's a marginal choice, as FF3 is a much MUCH better game than FF1.
The problem for me is seated around the fact that I, personally, went from FF2/FFSp to real Bout FF1 without ever playing FF3 inbetween. Truth is, as a result, when I play FF3 now, it just feels like a weird lacking version of RB1. Also, not to mention the HORRIBLY cheap and pre-emptive CPU AI. It just makes playing FF3 a chore - something which the RB series addressed rather heavily.
Don't get me wrong, I do like to have a blast from time to time, but when I get to Terry (when the cheapness kicks off BIG time) I tend to let out a sigh of disappointment as he back-dash evades ALL my attacks followed by a change of game - usually for RB1!
STE C stated plain, actual hard facts on 26.11.11... "SF4 & MVC3 can go s*ck my knob because KOF (XIII) is king... again"
I really enjoy FF3, to me it's the first step in the right direction for the FF series. I do enjoy FF2 and FF SP, but I feel that FF3 is the first totally playable and responsive FF game. Also this is the first appearance of one of my favorite SNK characters ever, the psychotic Yamazaki. Also, the backgrounds are absolutely beautiful.
Off topic, but...

I think you seriously need to stop being such an arrogant/rude person. First, just because Cat didn't respond to your PM does not give you the right to go over a MOD'S head. Yes, MOD, especially the MOD of the GoTW. If you feel bored , get a hobby, don't intrude upon the duties of an MOD. If you want to be a MOD so bad, ask the ADMIN or MODS don't go around ACTING like one while being a totally rude chode.

shot in the eye
shot in the brain
shot in the ass...
FF3 out of the trilogy is the richest in colours and textures. My favourite of scenaries is the Pao Pao Cafe 2, the National Park and the Aquarium. The way they recomposed Mai's music track gave me an impression she could swim with the dolphins, penguins and seals in blissful harmony.
The new introduced characters I like are Blue Mary and Sobaku. What kind of breed is Mary's dog? It looked like a Spaniel at first glance. And I still cannot define the weapon Sobaku wields.
Some of the stages take place where in places seen previously in FF1 but with a great difference, such as the Howard Arena (which now has a lake) and the Amusement Park (which is now in a dilapidated state).
The biggest problem with this game, is that it was badly emulated on MAME. After beating the final bosses, the game restarts and there's no way to see the ending, or submit your high score.
2D: I have no intention in becoming a mod just yet or something...Anyway, why pass me off as rude, I'm being polite, and gave Cat an apology. As for you, it looks quite the opposite, besides, I don't want to start a Flame/Fight/Etc., but how 'bout you...You're calling me a "chode" most of the time (on Chat anyway), and I'd find that too offensive on me IMO. Now please, if you will, stop accusing me, cause I have issues. Although, I'll just be doing other stuff, such as Reviews that I've already worked on before.
Will: Well, Kawaks and others don't have bad emulation on this title, although, the same thing about the "endings" probably happened to me, but I'm guessing its just random though.

Ah, FF3. I just love the backgrounds, the soundtrack, the gameplay and the whole atmosphere of it BUT as most of you already wrote, FF3 completely stands in the shadow of the (actually better) RB series. That doesn't mean it's bad, it just doesn't reach the awesomeness of its sequels.
And why on earth has Terry forgotten his epic Rising Tackle in this episode?!

All I know is that her dog is called "Anton". I just hate this name, because it reminds me of an crappy Austrian party DJ....
And Sokakus character design is based on a traditional Japanese monk. They carried such weird "magic" sticks aswell, check out this image:
Whaay hey Cat and Stray handbags at dawn, seriously guys grow up and get yourself organized. I am not sure how much authority Kaz has gave you both to handle GOTW and to help him with the site but you both seem to be at loggerheads and appear to be trying to get one over on each other by doing your GOTW first with out constructive contact between yourselves.
Maybe its not for me to say as I am not an administrator but I feel I have been around long enough to be considered a valuable and active member and thus deserve my say. It is my opinion that you are both letting your MOD status go to your heads a little, GOTW has as far as I am aware always been Cats duty which I assume was with Kaz's blessing. GOTW used to be one of my favorite subjects until the egos started, then again with Tengu not being around much anymore maybe the site needs one.
I am aware that Kaz struggles to keep things updated as he like many of us has a full time job and works a lot of hours so its great he has people to help out and he no doubt appreciates it. But bringing arguments to a forum as opposed to PMs for everyone to see is a little immature.
No disrespect to you Stray I admire your enthusiasm and dedication to the site, but you appear to be everywhere and have an answer for everything, unfortunately I think you could be rubbing a few of us up the wrong way. In terms of abuse in the chats I have never during my time experienced this on a Sunday when I usually visit so I assume it happens on a different time.
As I am a UK resident I am not familiar with many with American slang words so what is chowd exactly.
Fatal Fury 3
Love this game have had it on CD for years and would like to pick it up on MVS but its proving a tricky one to find here in the UK . I actually prefer this over RB (sorry Ninja) its a fitting end to the old school FF games but still looks and feels very fresh to me, in fact I would say the graphics are its best point. In fact I have always thought it felt closer to a RB game rather than the earlier FF games.
Not sure what SNK was trying to achieve releasing them both in the same year but glad they did and im glad I own them both
Lots of cool backgrounds and it introduced a few new long stay characters, I feel its a game that does not get talked about as much as it really should. That said I think all 3 of the early FF should be an essentail part of any NG fans collection

STE C: I appreciate your constructive criticism and to understand the point. Although, yes I have sometimes have answers and other things, its just that I'd want to contribute myself to certain things, but for now, and the way things are actually going in real life, It will change, and yeah, without Tengu, it seems a bit low, and the word 2D is referring to is right here=> www.urbandictiona... although I let it slide a lot, its going too far for me, and yeah, these are at times when I'm on chat with him. Besides, this'll be the (possible) last time that I'd do Cat's work, and rather stick to other stuff, like a review on the SNES ver. of Samsho that I'd did a while back. (but needs finalization or something.), and I do come on this site occasionally as I did before, but with summer coming up, I have plans, and won't be on as much.

Love this game. True it's been overshadowed by the Real Bouts which are some of the best fighters on the system and took the series to a new level but Fatal Fury 3 is still well worth playing. I love the backgrounds in this game. They all look great without exception but my favourites would be Hon Fu's lift stage and Joe's National park stage. I like how they put a lot of effort into the storyline of this game which really adds to the experience.
Gameplay while not as good as the RBs is still great. I've played this quite a bit in 2 player mode and really had a great time with it. I'd say this game has never really got the attention it deserves and is underrated. I do agree with Ninja though that the AI can be pretty annoying at times especially Terry Bogard. Seems like almost every round I play against him it comes down to who gets the last hit. Although I've completed this game a fair few times I never actually managed to get to the second of the Jins before.
