Arcade Monitor Info required

Well, basically you have the same quality...the only problem is that with a normal tv you can't change size and position of the screen, which is really required to play arcade games. Not every PCB uses the same screen size, they differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. So maybe you'll eventually get imagesthat aren't the right size. NeoGeoForLife! Posts: 1102 Joined: 03/19/2009 20:20	In theory a monitor should give a better picture than a tv for instance a top spec monitor should look better than a top spec crt. But a decent quality tv ( crt for retro of coarse) is more than ideal , I find from experience Sony Trintons and Panasonic's to give the sharpest picture for NG/ pre hi def retro gaming. We are very lucky in Europe to have scart, god I recall having Pal modified Jap Megadrives and Super Famicoms before I had a scart tv and the picture quality must have been horrifying. I could not play anything through a RF cable now it is just horrid but all them years ago I never knew the difference as scart tvs were not widespread until about 93.

Posts: 1355 Joined: 01/14/2007 15:26	Oh yeah something I forgot (silly me), the frequency of the signal is a lot higher with a monitor than a tv, so the quality in picture should be better with a real arcade CRT monitor (15-31 KHz).
