Great! add another NG dev title that I will probably never play in my life time.
2D: Put that gun down in front of you and take two steps back
NOTE: This is only my own personal prediction so it might not happen but adding to the facts we already know of it´s highly likely. We´ll see...
RiKo: Yea I really want this game too, guess I´ll have to sell one or two GAROU MARK OF THE WOLVES for the AES...

um i just ordered this game, in a way it didnt cost me anything cos i used the money in my Paypal account - that was in there through selling games + consoles on ebay, so it doesnt affect my bank balance. so it was free.... thats what i am telling myself anyway lol. i didnt realise it came with a manual and box before, so i thought its almost like an AES version. hope it works on my convertor!
haha priest MOTW is very good currency! how many do u actually have?
Wow congrats RiKo. It's pretty exciting to be able to actually order a completely new Neo Geo game. It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts about the game.

Priest there is also definitely going to be a version aimed at arcade owners that does support adding credits by inserting coins. As well as offering a freeplay version of the game to home collectors they are also hoping for success in Asian arcades. If you look at the bottom of this page you can see the details of the Arcade/Game Centre MVS kit:
They made the home collector MVS version freeplay so arcade owners wouldn't use it. I think the arcade kit will be more expensive. It's going to be very interesting to see how well Fast Striker does in arcades.
@2D NG DEV team have said they will probably port the game to a home system in the future.
By the way someone has posted a complete playthrough of the game on Youtube in case anyone is interested. Here are the first 2 stages.

RiKo: You´re my hero I currently own 3 Complete AES MOTW.
Merlin: You´re right ofcourse, I must have missed this part...
Still...I really don´t want to sound like a wet blanket or anything but I really can´t see this game getting that widespread since the NEO GEO MVS system (lets face it) have been more or less dead to arcade owners for the last 5-10 years. I can´t imagine the average arcade owner are shelling out XXXX EUROS for a game which only the hardcore elite group of gamers / collectors know of.
And this will ofcourse lead to a very small amount (if any) of second hand FAST STRIKER carts, thus increasing the value of these kits.
Again my personal opinion and I would really like to be wrong about this, we´ll see...

I can see your point Priest. It's perhaps too much to hope for that it'll be widespread in arcades. It'll be interesting to see what kind of arcade sales they can achieve though. I hope that at least NG DEV team make enough of a return from this to make them feel it's worth carrying on developing for MVS.
In that Q&A I posted on the last page that mentioned that they're keen to do a run 'n gun game. Just imagine how awesome it would be having a new Metal Slug or Shock Troopers style game on the Neo Geo.
Hi Thank you , i hope i like this game! i like how it looks, it still reminds me of Mars Matrix a little. i will make a little review when i get it.

wow i hope so, i would really like a platform game, but run and gun would be great too. not sure i could afford another one though

YOU KNOW...
I have to agree with what RiKo said originally (before he went out and bought it LOL!) about the price for this game. It's a shame to see that, even in this day and age, the NEO•GEO continues to price itself out of 'normal' PPL's price ranges. I really don't think that it's fair in this day and age, that PPL should be denied the opportunity to play a game they are interested in, simply because the game is unrealistically priced! 2D's comment covers that aspect entirely imo. Hell, he even went to the effort of tracking down a SUICIDE smiley - not found on this site - to evoke the severity of his feelings on the subject (metaphorically of course )
It's truly tragic that this game is SOOO expensive - especially in 2010! (in 1996 I could perhaps understand). We can only hope that this game see's a port to another console at some point soon - preferably DC or PS2!
SOOO...
perhaps more interestingly - in relation to Fast Striker and more importantly, NGDEV - I have so say that overall (if I was COMPLETELY honest) that I'm not overly impressed or keen with NGDEVs games thus far. Don't get me wrong, I own BOTH LHope's for DC and also 2x copies of DUX for DC too, and I DO enjoy them BUT theyre really average (at best) games imo with some nice visuals, but even then, that's subjective because I find them ugly in parts if I was honest (again!).
I just think that NGDEV are punching above their weight a bit. I just don't think their games are as great as they do! For a kick off I really think they need to drop these 3D rendered GFX they seem to have trademarked - as I just don't think the game's match up to the expectations I have in relation to graphical quality.
It was watching the gameplay vid for FStriker that triggered off this series of responses. I guess it's because the game looks alright but certainly NOT £500's worth of game! I don't know what it is but they just seem in limbo from a development perspective - as the gameplay never seems to improve in their games and I can DEFINITELY SEE(!) from the vids of FStriker that this is STILL the case. Again, don't get me wrong - I really want to play and enjoy this game but I just wish they'd put as much expertise into the feel and gameplay as they do their 3D rendered 2D GFX!
I don't suppose anyone (aside Merlin?!) who has put enough time into LHope or DUX to know or argue me on this - as I've played them both pretty extensively!
haha i am guilty as charged i am afraid i still stand by what i originally said, but i figured i could afford it and i liked the look of it. i never take the money out of my paypal account so its all just accumulated in there, and hasnt gone into my bank account. so i am kind of using that as justification to myself lol, since i never think about the money in my paypal account as being mine - even though it is.
i do really like the idea of buying Last Hope but part of it is the challenge of the game, the difficulty. i have it on Dreamcast but i still havent played it partly cos i wanted it on Neo Geo. you are right their games look great graphically. i think part of the problem is they are ex Amiga games-makers. im pretty sure i read that. some of their influences are probably games like Project X - technically very impressive on the Amiga, but not the best in gameplay terms. this problem certainly affected the makers of Soldner X. having said that Last Hope was influeneced by a lot of Japanese shooters.
i do think they have done an excellent job, even with the best will in the world u can still make a duff game, and they have done a good job overall, shame about the massive prices though! thing is i dont feel like i am wasting my money cos i bet Last Hope sells for a fortune, this prob will too (unless a lot of copies are made) . im not planning on selling it though, just its nice to know if i had to i could. they admitted themselves they needed to use playtesters after Last Hope. i do wish they could make more but at a cheaper price, but i guess they are having to destroy existing Neo Geo carts to make them, so maybe they cant make too much.

APPEARS THAT...
Fast Striker for MVS is now considerably less to buy now? I could be wrong, but I think it was originally €599? I'm sure RiKo has a receipt kicking around somewhere!

haha i think i burned my receipt so i would forget how much i paid for it! hopefully the rare first version will be worth a lot of money one day (unlikely i know lol). i havent really played it on much because i havent got the sound level fixed on my CMVS yet, and i dont want to play it without the proper sound!
im afraid i had to buy both the new Last Hope and the Fast Striker 1.5. it was really annoying cos i had just emptied out my bank balance into a pension scheme. i did that because i hardly ever buy anything these days. so i actually had ask my mother for her credit card details (it was like being 16 again!), so i could buy one of them - she was just about to leave for work when i spoke to her - so it was a bit stressful for both of us. and my main bank account is now running on empty. no food for me this week lol.
whoop! i got Fast Striker and Last Hope Pink Bullets today in the post. its actually quite amusing seeing a pic of an ultra-hard looking cyber-alien thing on the front cover of Last Hope.... and then underneath it says in big girly pink-coloured letters 'Pink Bullets' . how much of a wuss do i feel? i want the old yellow bullets back!
also although its nice to get extras (posters etc) with them, in reality its all just stuff i am going to chuck in a box and never use. so it will take up space. they each come with a CD soundtrack, who in their right mind is actually going to listen to this without the game? esp when you have to rip the polythene wrapping off to do so. im not moaning cos its nice to get some extra stuff. but now so many games come with extra stuff like this its lost its value a bit. Neoteam are great to deal with though, very good communication and they always keep you informed what's going on.
i will check they both work later today. i am a bit addicted to Space Giraffe at the moment, and its all i have time for at the moment. but im looking forward to giving Last Hope PB a go especially. also i can probably say goodbye to my CMVS now i can play these on my AES Edited by RiKo on 22. I was quite interested in getting Fast Striker on AES, but I personally think they've opened the pre-orders far too early. The game isn't due until about June time and Gunlord hasn't even been released yet. By the time my Dragon Box arrives they'll have had my money for about 5 months, and that's if it does get a March release.
Considering there's only going to be 75 Japanese and 75 English copies produced they'll probably be sold out by March/April time when I'd rather be handing over the cash.
They're also still talking about the custom PCBs, shells and cases for both Gunlord and Fast Striker, and I'd really like to see those first too.
