Thanks but i don't quite understand the numbering 0.25? 0.55? what does that tell me?

Bojan if you multiply those numbers by 1,000,000 you can see how many copies were sold. The global sales total for KOF XIII is 550,000.

The video link in your earlier post doesn't work Bojan. I take it this is the video you wanted to show?

I think for a company like SNK the sales numbers are very good! Hopefully the sales of KOF XIII will encourage them to continue the series. Kind of depressing seeing them only announce mobile/tablet games lately.

If anyone's interested:

It seems like King of Fighters XIII is coming out for PC on Steam. It isn't officially announced in the store, but in the background Steam database the game is now being beta tested, with the last update a few hours ago.

It seems PC aficionados will experience this (still) awesome game as well!

Awesome. I'll personally pass on it since I already own it for 360 and PS3, but more people getting to play it can only be a good thing.

Although I still got my ps3 copy i sold my ps3 so might check the pc version out

Been a long while since I played this online. Think I'll try again this evening and get my ass kicked as usual. Was some seriously good players online last time I played.

I'm actually looking forward to this, a pre-order from my side is sure as death.

I'm guilty of not giving this any real time if I'm honest.

My body and mind was ready when XII (yes, 12) launched originally, but it all fell a bit flat. Then, when XIII came out, SNKP had me well and truly over, by denying initial support for my beloved USB Saturn Pad. Game... out the shrink wrap, day one: couldn't play it Shrug

And to be honest, that imposed limitation to my initial excitement had long term damaging effects on the game, as I missed that exciting opening window everyone was enjoying, as 'they' do with any new game.

It's a shame tbh.

So, is anyone here still hammering this then, or has the interest just waned off in general?

I still play it every once and awhile with my girlfriend, we have savage matches. IMO, It's the best thing SNKP has ever put out. The previous statement is saying a lot, because I really, really liked KOF XI.

Objectively speaking, I think you're right tbh.

KOFXIII is, without doubt, the best fighting game SNKP have ever produced. It's one of the best 2D fighters of this current/past generation. The game managed to worm it's way into the tournament scene and even appear at EVO, for the first time in the series. Quite the achievement.

Of course, the only downside to this 'progress' is that, slowly but surely, now SNKP have cottoned onto what Capcom learned via 3rd Strike, KOF too will now become a tournament-centric fighter heavily centralised around the type of gameplay elements tournament players find more enticing over the more casual audience. We saw the beginning of this in XIII tbh, but seeing as the overall concept was well received, all future installments will surely expand on such elements and, as a result, pull KOF further and further away from being a game the SNK crowd appreciate to becoming something overly complex, convoluted and aimed at a different audience overall.

i dont agree with your point of view neo-geo ninja if they became like capcom we would have sen 3 "new" kofs up till now but we didnt see anything from them in ages. (expect that steam edition).

Haven't spoken to you for a while Bojan!

Not convinced you understood exactly what I was getting at with regards to my comments to be honest, Bojan.

I'm not saying SNKP are becoming like Capcom, nor am I saying KOF is becoming like Street Fighter. I'm simply suggesting that KOF13 was aimed more towards the tournament-fighter crowd and it paid off for them (SNKP).

As such, I expect the trend to continue with any sequels and I expect the system and combo mechanics etc to become even more convoluted in future as a result.

yup a long time has passed since i came on here and its nice to be back....

Well yea i feel like this Kof was much eassier than the last instalments (for much wider audience i guess) i hope they wont change the core for the gameplay mechanics although the gameplay mechanics changed trough the years somehow it still felt like you are playing kof i hope they wont make it to simple and easy (i played just a couple of fights at a friends house vs fights and didnt get to play the single player but alot of people said that was quite easy especially the bosses).
i hope kof IV is on the horizont (although if they make a new fighter will be great change) especially since they looked for new game designers and partnered with that company that makes king of combat (which looks great and the movements of the characters look more fluid and more real) whats your take on that game?

I've just received the deluxe edition of this, bought for less than 12!

Looking forward to giving it some playtime, the graphics look fantastic!

I spent sometime on KOF13 this afternoon...

I played it in Arcade mode with all options on the default settings... I enjoyed the experience but found the first 5 or 6 bouts very easy gaining Perfect on most rounds (I'm not brilliant at the series).

On the 7th round (I think) I got my ass kicked though...

Will be returning to this game soon Grin
