Twinkle Star Sprites
cthulhu
I was browsing Ebay for AES games and when I saw the price two sellers asked for Twinkle Star Sprites I almost fell off my chair. I know Ebay is a lot more expensive then other sites most of the time, but this was just rediculous...they asked $1200 - $1400. Twinkle Star Sprites is a great game and I'm really happy I bought the AES version pretty cheap a couple of years ago, but these prices just can't be realistic.

I think that its one thing to put a high price on the games that you are selling. But the big question here is: How many buyers are willing / able to put up that kind of money for a videogame? It would be real interesting to know if this company or person is managing to sell any of his games if they ar equally priced.

Yea I think some of these prices are highly unrealistical.

That's exactly my point...not many people will spend more than $1000 on a single game especially if you can buy it a whole lot cheaper on MVS...same game, no nice packaging. It's the same thing with the first Metal Slug, way overpriced if you look at what it offers you. Most people who spend this kind of money mostly do so on Arcade systems and Arcade games, which I kind of understand if the game includes the system it runs on. One thing I don't get is people buying new Cave games for a lot of money when the same game is half the price one year later. The biggest problems with games like Twinkle Star Sprites and Metal Slug is that their socalled value doesn't decrease over time...they mostly get more and more expensive, even when people are not willing to buy them...rediculous isn't it?

ive seen alot of sellers on ebay like this where they ask a crazy rate for a game. also on amazon there are market place sellers who put nightmare prices on fairly common cd's. i once saw an album on amazon that you could buy brand new from the site for 5 and then there was a market place seller selling it for 150. what boggles my mind is people must buy these things from this seller or they wouldnt have the business Shock

Those prices are pretty ridiculous. Twinkle Star Sprites is certainly one of the rarer AES titles but I've never seen it for those kind of prices before. Definitely not worth it. I think what happens is one person lists it for a ridiculous amount and other sellers copy them and do the same.

If anyone is actually after a copy of Twinkle Star Sprites AES then somewhere like the neo-geo.com trading forum or the Neostore would be a better bet. I've seen some pretty crazy prices myself on ebay before like Breakers for 500 and Shock Troopers 2nd Squad for 500.

Powerwave yeah I've noticed that kind of thing on Amazon marketplace. Sometimes a CD or DVD will be 50-100 or more.

....or you could get the rather nifty Saturn version for under 50. I know its not the same as owning the original AES cart, but sometimes it has to be done. All looks and sounds the same anyway on my trusty 14" CRT portable. Talking of the Saturn, just picked up another cutesy little shooter/platformer - Keio Flying Squadron 2.
Go forward for make away as joystick. Push A button for approach of enemy. Break of enemy for A and B. Make high score for break get together - Neo Mr Do!

You can also get it for the PS2 and Dreamcast.

Snap, I am waiting to receive Keio Yugekitai also Clap

Just sold off my Saturn Derby Stallion Limited Edition console boxed in excellent condition plus 4 games (Marvel Super Heroes, Street Fighter Collection, xmen vs Streetfighter with ram pack and xmen Children of the Atom) and a rare Virtua Stick HSS 0130 for 125 plus free delivery, is that a bargin or what. Gonna be sad to see it go but I can't justify having two of the same consoles. I have a "This is Cool Saturn" which I will keep and use. The only thing I am happy about is the guy I am selling to on Ebay is gonna take real good care of it, I hope. I could have got more I suppose but meh as long as it goes to a good home that's all that matters. I think I paid like 150 for the console alone like three years ago.

I see that their prices for video games are not that cheap. Any ideas on sites which we could buy cheaper ones?

I was after TSS a few months back on Jap AES. I watched an auction one go for 390. This is a much more realistic price cos it shows how much people are really willing to pay. a few weeks later i got a conversion (exactly the same with colour manual) for 90

i know when i put items on buy-it-now on ebay i always start with a high price, cos you'd be surprised how often items sell for stupidly high prices! if it doesn;t sell then i relist and reduce the price.

All the conversions that guy had he put on Ebay though, so if there's anymore they will be there. hope that helps Smile

Its really annoying as a buyer though, who knows their stuff, and you see a game on eBay that you want, and some guy has a ridiculous price on it though - case in point SamSho V - going for 200-300 notes on many peoples' accounts as a buy-it-now, and months later they still haven't sold - auctioned, it normally goes for 100.

Frustrating really for so many people, but thats life!

INTERESTING POINT!...
it's true that some 'twat' will be asking for a ridiculous price on a game... constantly! Even when fully auctioned copies go for a 3rd of the price... yet this new average does little to dent their asking price. It's very annoying.

Just wondering, anyone have any ideer of what would be a fair price to pay for TSS AES at the moment, if the game where in gamers condition, and was bought elsewhere than ebay?

Well anyone agrees that the Ebay prices are rediculous, but if you see it in online stores it's still very expensive...I've seen mint and (also not so mint) copies go for 600-800 Euro and that was a couple of years ago. The problem with Twinkle Star Sprites is that you don't see it for sale that often, so I guess the people that have this game keep it in their collections and rarely sell it (like me). I was lucky to find it pretty "cheap"...I bought it from someone who was desperately in need of money.
