Edward Woodward
Not sure how other members feel about this , it may apply to the over 30s , but I could not help to feel sad about the death of Edward Woodward. The Equalizer was such a cool tv show and I enjoyed watching it again when it was repeated on Sky a few years back. its like another part of my childhood has died ive a horrible feelin Jan Michael Vincent is next if this youtube vid is anything to go by.

Totally agree STE C. Callan, The Equalizer, Whicker Man, Hot Fuzz etc, plus he always used to turn up in things like Armchair Theatre, Tales from the Unexpected etc. He also used to host a programme looking at unsolved murders, sinisterly dressed in black coat and gloves. Of course he was also the subject of that fine joke that if there were no "D's" in the alphabet he would be called Ewar EooWoo!
Go forward for make away as joystick. Push A button for approach of enemy. Break of enemy for A and B. Make high score for break get together - Neo Mr Do!
I'm also a bit of an EWWood fan on the QT and also loved the Equalizer in the 80's & early 90's. Sure, I was young, but my Mum was obsessed with the man so I used to stay up with her as a child just to watch it (it was quite late back in the day, from 10-11pm I think?)

I had just last month gone on a quest for:
1) a full DVD boxset (R2) of all the series' and
2) the Equalizer theme for my iTunes and as a ringtone.

The Equalizer theme (Busy Equalizing) has indeed been my ringtone for the last month or two! I even BlueToothed it my Mum a few weeks back as she wanted it upon hearing it chime away. I've changed it now though as it feels wrong. The Equalizer theme though is quite easily one of my all time favourite TV themes though (along with the Persuaders, it's hard to pick a fave... but those 2 are my best).

As mentioned, The Wicker Man is also... well, a damn near masterpiece of it's own time! Another one of my favourite actors Christopher Lee co-stars in that film. I have to say, he's also getting on and surely it cannot be too long for him either (Damn ageing... Damn it to hell! Certain celebrities should have access to immortality IMO Grin)

R.I.P. Edward Woodward. You ARE a legend.

As far as I am aware Ninja only the first season has came out on R2 but theirs sometimes a guy on eBay who does a bootleg box set which has the full 4 seasons although they are converted from vhs tapes or downloads he recons the quality's fine. Surprisingly he is not selling it at present so I assume people snapped them up yesterday.

I used to like Murder In Suspicious Circumstances as well , unfortunately I am to young to recall Callan but my parents reckon it was very good. Its great that so many people loved him he really was a joy to watch especially in The Equalizer he could change his personality at will , a fantastic actor.
It's sad news to hear of his passing away. To be honest though I wasn't really a big fan of The Equalizer and haven't seen that much of his other work. However I will always remember Edward Woodward because of The Wicker Man which is easily one of my favourite films of all time. His great performance in that film as Sgt Neil Howie is really memorable. It's quite a unique and great film that I think everyone should watch at least once. I can't believe they actually remade The Wicker Man. The remake should be avoided like the plague.
The only thing I know him for is the Wicker Man, which like Merlin says is a good film. Sad for his family that he has died:(

RIP Edward Woodward. I remember staying up late as a kid in the 80's to watch The Equaliser. Sad news:(
