Neo Drift Out: NGFL High Score Challenge
OK So this week Kgenthe amongst other NGFL members have shown their feelings for this game by voting for it to be this week GAME OF THE WEEK. That means NEO DRIFT OUT will also be this Week HSC.

Game of the week discussion thread: http://www.neogeo...ad_id=1945

image credit: The Arcade Flyer Archive

The rules:

* Play whichever version you like: NEO GEO MVS / NEO GEO AES / NEO GEO CD / EMULATOR

* Completing the 7 tracks you do get a final time, POST THIS TIME AS YOUR SCORE

* Difficulty: MVS - level 4 / AES - MVS setting

* Credits: 1

* Multiple runs as training is of course allowed. Also if you manage to surpass your previous score then just post it and I'll update the first post.

* No cheating with any kind of UNI-BIOS is allowed.

* No cheating in Emulators such as autofire, Pausing or infinite lives are allowed
(or any other effect you can use in emulators to make the game easier, score higher etc)

* Photographic proof is not needed as I believe that we are all honorable people. If you like though you can attach a photo or a mini-clip with your highscore.

* State which platform you played this game on.

Love this game Smile Here is my first run of the evening to get things started.

Kgenthe: Time: 7'28"37 Car: Celica (NGCD)

Edit: Improved a bit to 7'22"82 with the Celica. Have a ways to go to catch Will though.

I think I can shave some more time off, I have a few shortcuts left to play around with. If you look at that picture, my next highest score was 7'12"53, or a hundredth slower than Will's time, which is pretty crazy. Time to defend the gold!! Smile Smile

Nothing to brag about, but let me take 3rd place Smile And hopefully I can get 1st, or at least get people posting scores!

Played on MVS. Car: Celica
Donkey: Well doneThumbs Up

Scoreboard, hall of fame and medals are updated.

Righto, im going to fire this up on NGCD and have a crack now Wink

What about Thrash Rally / Rally Chase though?? Hard to say if you would put them in the same thread cause Rally Chase on the CD has abit different controls which makes it abit tougher...
Well i didnt get far, i turned on the machine and while i was turning on the sound amp and sub woofers, my CRT projector took a dive. Its not working as it should, so until it does i have no NEO-GEO....:(

Will get to this game as soon as i can though.
There´s no hurry, this HSC isn´t going anwhere. Take your time, Neo-geo manBeard

Projector is fixed, replaced system board. Will set the convergence and get to score beating!!! ( i hope! )
Well, im a long way off beating any of these times yet.... Wink
Ok, looks like i get just inside the top 3...

Used Celica, 7'33"33 on NEO-GEO CD...
Neo-Geo Man: You know how lucky you are, getting to play games using a projector?!!!!

Well done!

Scoreboard, hall of fame and medals are updated.

Thanks Priest!! Not only is it a projector, but it is a CRT projector!!

When i was a child i always wanted a bigger screen, as i got older and could afford it, i got a bigger screen each time, til now, when it is pretty near as big as the wall in my lounge room.

CRT is perfect for these fast paced games too, no motion blur, no screen door effect, no interpolation, and no pixels!! The only down side is the age of these projectors, the maintenance on them can be quite regular!!
Keep giving your projector love (in the form of maintainance) and it will continue to pleasure you with all its CRT excellence...

Yeah i couldnt live without it, and the biggest reason i spose i have to keep it going is the Gun-CON 45 for the old Playstation works perfectly on it, so we can have 120 inch Point Blank!! Older light guns wont work on the digital displays, so ill "suffer" under the superlative beauty of analog for as long as i can keep them running Wink
