Project 'Trico'...
NeoGeoNinja
Now guys... This is one of the FEW game series' I actually care about on the face of the planet. When I say games, I mean 3D interaction... there's few that I'm that bothered about if I were honest. HOWEVER SOTColossus & Ico are two games that I actually adore. True gaming beauty at it's best!

SO, WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE...
looks like a third in the Ico series to me (Ico, Nico & Trico... heh). Well, it doesn't look like it... It bloody well is!!

THOUGHT I'D SHARE THIS...
for anyone who cares. If you don't yet, you should start. If you have never played EITHER of the aforementioned games... you should.

DAMN... a combination of This, GodOW3 & Yakuza 3 (and hopefully Way of the Samurai 3 too?)... well, they say they always come in 3's... er, 3's that is!

Enjoy, AND if you haven't already seen it, I hope your looking forward to it... I KNOW I am Thumbs Up

Look absolutely fantastic...I love ICO and especially Shadow of the Colossus...it looks Team ICO still had it's own style, hopefully it'll be an awesome game like the other two.

Ahem... now I have cleaned up the mess. I really hope this turns out well. I love the original Ico so much, it's definitely quite unique. Looking forward to finding out more about it!

Wow, that looks incredible! I own both Ico and SotC and I plan on playing them both soon. I'm partially through Ico right now and I figure it'll be best if I beat that before starting on SotC since I hear they're connected somehow. The art direction in both games is beautiful, and it looks like that tradition is continuing. It looks to play like Ico but with a Colossus helping you out the entire time instead of Yorda always slowing you down.

I own and have played Ico, but although its a great game I think it is a bit overated. I did lose interest after a while. I do have SOTC but haven't got round to playing it yet, although I have seen it being played.

This game looks a hell of a lot like Ico, and I agree with what Mojo said - the same kind of gameplay but with a collossus helping you out. You just know there is a Neverending Story vibe going on too - won't be long before that thing flies with you on its back Smile

Once thing I hope is that they fill the game with a bit more life this time round. Ico and Collussos are both dead games (desolate, bleak, isolated) in many ways and I think that worked for them, but a third time round I would want to see a proper vibrant populated world. Something a bit braver maybe. I hope so.

I am not that excited by this game yet. But hopefully as more details start to emerge......... Smile

To be honest, I certainly hope that what your suggesting DOESN'T happen. I think the style really works and as such I think they need to stick with it. The isolation and desolation make the game's as charming as they are. The formula for these game's is near perfect. It's kind of difficult to explain really but the landscapes and gameplay are simple, but the games beauty is through their simplicity I guess... in every aspect. The attention to detail is right where it NEEDS to be, again, the game strives for complexity through simplicity. It really works. Too many games miss the point and get too carried away with themselves. Ico & SOTC always concentrate on simple ways to immerse the gamer... they're just so captivating and immersive. The elements of curiosity and oddity keep you hooked. You simply want to go there... you want to be there. It's very odd. There's just nowhere on earth that seems so peaceful and special. The world feels like yours and nobody elses... DAMN I've gone on enough. I hope ppl can relate to these 'ramblings of thought' Grin

Ico & SOTC can never be overrated IMO... they are modern masterpieces in my book.

I played a bit of Ico at the start, but never bothered to continue.. Though I played Shadow of the Colossus.. that game is just simply mind blowing, probably one of the few games that I will always love replaying them again.. every soundtrack in that game is just great.

I'm looking forward to this, I just hope they do a better job at the NTSC box art. Unlike the Ico NTSC box.

Unlike the rest of you I've never played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus but having watched this video I'm pretty impressed. The graphics are stunning and the fantasy setting appeals to me. There aren't many games I want to buy on the PS3 right now so this looks like one to look out for. Thanks for mentioning it Ninja.

I know what you mean and I think you are right in some ways. But I don't want it to be all exploring abandoned ruins and windswept plains again. It would be good if they could introduce some more life in the environment, and maybe have some other characters who you can also form a meaningful bond with. I don't want a substitute Yorda. Just want something different this time round Smile

That big creature thingy definitely has arrows stuck in it in parts of the trailer so it looks like there will at least be human enemies.

...unless those came from automated traps or something.

I'd expect this game to feel mostly desolate but just watching the trailer makes it feel more alive than Ico by far. Like I said, I haven't played SotC yet though (other than the demo) so I can't compare it to that.
