Dir en Grey. Saw them at Wacken and was blown away by the performance. The singer has the biggest vocal range I've ever heard. O yeah, their videos are quite explicit/ creepy.

I listen to all different types of music which span almost every genre and time period with many talented artists yet, just how talented they can be never seems to hit me until I listen to something like this from around that period.
Obviously there are a lot of people currently in the music industry that aren't 1/10th as talented as artists like Gordon Lightfoot simply because technology can make anyone a capable singer etc. it just doesn't get any better than someone who can actually skillfully play an instrument and really hold a tune. I guess that's why this era stands out kind of on its own ?

I haven't listened to Type O- in the last few years so it still strikes me as odd that Peter Steele is dead. Never got the opportunity to see them live These guys have always been a great representation of what a Metal band should be imho.

Currently listening to some tracks from Nekketsu Oyako. Amazing soundtrack. Perfect music for a beat 'em up. Gets you pumped and ready to take on some street scum!

Wow, these sound great for sure! I definitely miss such tracks in games nowadays. One day I'll maybe get the PSX version of Nekketsu Oyako, it doesn't seem that expensive at eBay!
