The Last Blade: NGFL High Score Challenge
RiKo
Well done guys - especially Priest - great score Thumbs Up

I want to have another go and improve my score! Priest - will this thread still run - even after the week's winner is decided? - I'm not sure how much time I will have to play this week, plus I want to improve my Blazing Star score too!

I like these competitions - it makes you appreciate the games more. Most of us probably don't normally play for score either.

Scoreboard updated.

Will: Welcome.

Riko: ThanksSmile I think we can keep the threads running as long as there is any interest and new scores keep coming in, so its really up to all of us to keep "feeding" the highscore threads new highscores...

My original idea for the highscore challenges were just that: to trigger each other into playing more games and to get better at them.

If crossed swords gets to be next weeks GOTW, Im not sure if this is such a good game to challenge each other in, well see if we pick another game to compete in....

You're right Priest. Crossed Swords a good fantasy which deserves praise and appreciation is not a good idea to have a high score, for the simple reason, it doesn't have a high score. All we can state is the Chapter, the Level and Experience points and the current weapon and the last dividing path taken to show our best attempt.

Let's try NAM 1975 next, if you think that's a good idea.

Hi!

Just a few questions:

"Difficulty: 4"? Do you mean the default difficulty setting? In The Last Blade the default setting seems to be called "Level 3", or am I missing something here? Smile

About the rounds, I assume you mean the standard "best out of 3 rounds" (or 2 rounds won to actually win the match)?
Neo-Geo is pure bliss!

Default dificulty level for the AES (For the MVS this is normally level 4). But if you play it on default setting for the AES this should be equal to the MVS setting.

Default setting on rounds too ( "standard" )

Good luck...

Okay! Well, I guess I'll just start up the game and play a credit without changing anything in the options.

Anyway, I am still a beginner at this game, but I'll post some scores just to get going and to keep track of any progress.

What does fabric setting mean anyway?

Thanks, Priest!

Riko, I think Priest possibly meant to write "default setting", not "fabric setting", I see that he already edited some posts to change this.

Thanks AES_Collector Grin

Priest - If I am playing MVS games on an AES (through a convertor) does this make them AES games? I don't get difficulty numbers - I just get stuff like 'Easy','Normal',Hard','MVS' - unless its a fighter then I get numbers of course!

RiKo: I realise that I sometimes lack in the way to express myself in the english language. If I do this sometimes I would apreciate it if you ask me what I really meanSmile

With the term "factory setting" what I meant was ofcourse "Default setting" which AES_Collector pointed out, thanksThumbs Up

Yea if you play an MVS through a phantom adapter you get the same choice as you would playing a regular AES cart. The Default setting for an MVS is always "level 4" and sometimes you get the option to play AES games at MVS difficulty level.

I guess we may have to adjust this rule if MVS and AES difficulty differ in comming games.

Once again please bare with me, as english isnt my native language. ThanksSmile

...Or I just might start writing in Swedish and then you would really have a hard time understanding meWink

Same here. Sometimes i can't find the right words to express myself. :( Also i improved my English thanks to NGFL forum.

I'm always been impressed with how well people in these forums know English when it isn't their native language.

I've always wondered about the difficulty settings in the Last Blade because while in most AES games if you choose Level 4 difficulty it's the same as MVS there are some games where level 5 is the same as MVS. Examples being Samurai Shodown 2 and 3 and also Real Bout Special. So in The Last Blade is level 4 definitely the same as the default MVS setting?

This situation also applies to Samurai Shodown 4 because it doesn't tell you in the options screen which level is MVS though I suspect it might be level 5 in that game.

Also in the Blazing Star challenge I've been using level 3 'Normal' setting. Was that wrong? Should I have been using level 4 MVS instead?

priest
Merlin: Since there is a dificulty level named "Normal" in Blazing star and as I stated this to be the level we should compete on. You did absolutely right and so did everyone else. See link for rules in BS thread:

http://www.neogeo...rowstart=0

Each game we have a challenge in I will post the difficulty level we should all play, however if you feel that we need to be more clear about which level we have played then state this along with your highscore and this info too will be posted on the scoreboard.

OK?

Yes - I've never had any problems with your English Priest. I genuinely thought fabric setting must be something to do with when people who play on proper MVS set ups, thats why I was asking. I remember seeing it in the start of the other threads too - I was getting curious you see.

I think you and all the other guys from non-English speaking countries have amazing English! I never know how you all get all the slang and stuff. The few foreign langauages I speak - I speak very badly - lol
