Regular forum posters know the drill by now, but for anyone that didn't visit the two previous useless info threads we had on the old forum, it's basically a place where you can post any old random spam. Want to rant on about the crappy day you just had? Do it! Want to show us a random link that you don't really think deserves its own thread? Do it here! In fact, if you just feel like telling us you farted or something, even that is fine. Almost anything goes in here, so long as it's not abusive to other members of course!
I'll kick this thing off: I now have a 2nd PC, built by me. Bow to it's awesomeness:

The reasonably nice case disguises the fact that this PC was built from spare parts that I had lying around after doing previous upgrades, as well as a Graphics card 'borrowed' from Emo Fairy! (thanks! )
Specs:
AMD XP2000+
512 RAM
128MB Inno 3D Geforce 4 MX
All running on the most cheap ass £16 PC Chips motherboard you've ever seen!
Oh and I don't have a 2nd monitor, so it's running on my TV for now, so you can imagine how great the picture quality is. Should come in handy for some network games of Halo and Unreal though, or if the main PC happens to break down!
So... get posting! Let's see how quickly we can break the 100 page mark!

Nice PC Kaz. Mine is about that powerful, but i've been having alot of problems with it lately to the point that i think i just need to start from scratch. (but i'm thinking of just saying fuck PC gaming and getting a Wii)
Right now i'm running a:
AMD XP2600
512 RAM
Radeon 9800 Pro
40 gig HD (i have 25 gigs of music, imagine having to constantly manage nearly everything you DL)
Btw, maybe we should start getting members on the old forums informed soon. It feels odd posting in a thread with the same subject in both forums

I don't do PC gaming much really which is why I haven't upgraded the main pc for some time. I have a Geforce 5900 XT in the main PC and Athlon 3000, so it's a fair bit better, but a lot of new games run crappily, but I've not been that bothered to tell the truth. Sometime next year I might upgrade, but I'll most likely build a brand new PC entirely from scratch.
Get a new HD dude! Can get a 250gig for quite cheap these days - does your motherboard support sata at all? Ask Mitch MF about managing downloads though - up until recently he only had a 10gig HD!
I just set this thread up so it was ready for when the site opens up - don't worry about posting in it too much for now. I want the site up and running 100% before we start getting people in here, at the moment I'm only really inviting mods and a few other trusted members. Working a hell of a lot on the site at the moment though so I'm hoping to have it done sooner rather than later. On that note I'm nearly done with the photo albums for all the Neo Geo games now... man that has been a long winded task!
Sorted out the main review page a little too, although it could do with some improvements maybe. Any suggestions?
Link -->
Will start working on the actual reviews soon, need to have all the photo albums up first though.

Some review links lead to the main page? I guess they aren't up yet but yeah, the reviews page looks a-ok. Can't think of anything to improve the page, but I guess that's a good thing.
PC gaming? I miss the time when me and my buds play counterstrike, diablo 2, battlerealms, C&C, etc., but the only games I only get to play in my PC are C&C : Yuri's Revenge, The Sims and emos... oh i mean emus.
John Liu and Hwang Jang Lee are the most badass kickers ever.

Yeah, the only review list page I made so far is the Neo Geo one, and I'm currently in the process or sorting that one out as you can see... I kind of stopped halfway through as I needed to sort something else out! I'll work on them after all the Neo Geo reviews are online. Phry is helping with the reviews a bit, so I owe him a lot cos it will save a lot of time!

I know what you mean. I miss the days when we used to do LAN partys round my friends house - we'd have 4 or 5 PC's and we'd get drunk and play all kinds of Quake mods all night, like Quake Rally, Quake football, stuff like that. Was a hell of a lot of fun!
John Liu and Hwang Jang Lee are the most badass kickers ever.
Agreed... Hwang Jang Lee is one of my personal heroes! Pardon my ignorance, but who is John Liu? Anyways, anyone who can take out three people with one flying kick deserves mucho respect
Watch me!!! -->
He's obviously getting on a bit now, but I bet he can still bust a move!

Good stuff man! Gotta love that training vid where he smashes the pots! I'll have to look up some of his movies. I still love the fights between Hwang Jang Lee and Jackie Chan in Snake in the Eagles Shadow and Drunken Master. Need to dig out my DVD's pf those!
Speaking of old fighters, ever see much of Benny the Jet Urquidez? He's the guy Jackie Chan fought in Wheels on Meals and Dragons Forever... the fight in WOM is still a total classic, especially because you can tell some of the hits were for real as they were annoyed at each other for various reasons.
Here's a link to that fight - without a doubt one of the best one on ones ever filmed!
http://youtube.co...hXwPQU1iNo
Gotta love the full on left jab Jackie lands at the end in slow motion cos you can tell it really hit as you see Benny's cheek wobble all over the place!

Good to see you post here on the test site Daaren!
That PC doesn't seem too bad, but maybe a new gfx card and definitely a bigger HD would be what I'd get! Maybe keep the 80 gig in there as your main drive and get a 250gig one or something to use as a storage drive?

I love LAN parties. It has been couple years but i'm finally going to one in December. It'll just be me and 2 friends but it's been such a long time i'm sure i'll enjoy it. We'll be playing some CS:Source, Age of Empires III, & Splinter Cell. Pretty much my fav. multiplayer PC games with the exception of CS. Also, we usually play some neo-geo games on mame. |

Speaking of Benny the Jet, have you ever seen Grosse Pointe Blank? He plays a hit man sent out to get the main character who is played by John Cusack (who was actually a student of Benny). The fight is gritty, far from flashy but appears very authentic to real hand to hand combat.
Classic Meals on Wheels clip btw

I still remember those days fondly... of playing Red Alert on a dial up when about an hour or so into the game, someone picks up the phone! Nooooo. Playing Duke Nuken 3d on modem and LAN seriously rocked.

Oh yeah I remember Wheels on Meals and that awesome fight scene with Urquidez One legendary fighting scene indeed, they say that they were totally duking it out halfway throughout the fight! It's also one of the most awesome kung fu flicks just for putting a Jackie Chan, Yuen Biaou, and Sammo Hung teamup! And of course, Benny the Jet fight scene is the true climax
Phry: Now that you've mentioned it, I do recall a Benny the Jet movie in which he's a hitman... gotta check that out one of these days!

Hmmm, I have seen Grosse Point Blank, but I don't remember Benny the Jet being in it, but then again it was a looong time ago that I saw it... will have to check it out again!
So far the only admins I added are Emo Fairy and Phry - Phry has been adding reviews for me, so he needed to be added to the staff so he could edit stuff (welcome on board dude! ). All other mods on the old site will be added back in asap though - now the site is more or less setup and just needs content going back on, it would be good if I could show everyone how the system works (it's really easy anyway!).
What I would suggest is a chat meet up at some point in the very near future - I do have a chat add-on that I plan on implementing (in fact it's already on here, just not enabled currently). If everyone is up for it, we could have a mods only chat meet on a convenient night and we can chat about it and I can get everyones accounts setup. Let me know guys and gals and we'll sort something out!
As for Emo Fairy... well, she actually hijacked my account while I was on her PC, and added herself as an admin... then threatened to beat me up if I even considered removing her. I really do have no choice!!!
Just kidding - Emo Fairy's been doing some graphics and stuff and helping out - I edited another theme to create the pink one that is now selectable (go to your profile to change theme), and she made the banner for it.... and a great job she did too!

Just watched Tom Yum Goong, that new Tony Jaa movie and it is one of the most #@$%ng awesome martial arts movie i've ever seen! I no longer doubt his place as the next new martial artist and a new martial arts screen legend
I went crazy and bought lots of cheap $3 DVDs at BIGLOTS today. I bought a couple of Jackie Chan flicks (once casts him as a villain? Gotta check it out), a couple of unknown kung fu flicks (though that one movie may be that movie I keep on watching in a local channel back when I was still a toddler), a Charles Bronson 3-movie DVD (ALL his movies are supposedly badass one way or another), A 3-movie DVD with one movie that stars Dragon Lee (Bruceploitation), one featuring Bolo as the main villain (movie name: "chinese hercules" , and a movie starring Jim Kelly, the guy with the 'fro in Enter the Dragon, who is too cool to lose . Oh yeah, Happy thanksgiving!

I am running an IDE as my main drive and a sata as the storage drive (a 250 gig one) and it works fine.
Suko: Hell yea, Tom Yum Goong is fricken amazing... I wasn't too keen on the storyline itself, but as far as fight scenes go it is absolutely amazing, especially the MASSIVELY long fight scene where he's trying to get to the top of the building and it is all one long camera shot with NO cuts whatsoever. That must have taken so much planning and meticulous attention to detail it's mindblowing! I loved the fight where Tony seems to be aiming to break the world record for "most bad guys bones broken in one fight"... that had me laughing and wincing in pain at the same time. But yea, Tony has emerged as undoubtedly one of the greatest action film stars around today!
Action film with Jackie Chan as the bad guy? I've never seen it but is that the really old film that was renamed as "Rumble in Hong Kong", to capitalise on the success of Rumble in the Bronx? I remember seeing that film for sale but never bothered.
