If there hardware gets adopted as I think it will as I am sure it supports unity maybe even unreal engine , could make the indie scene have total access to develop for arcade setup directly.

This is really exciting well for me anyways. It's not going to be 1 board 1 game 2d I think it's programable and it store say the game on board. I was reading it over .com but I cannot for life of find the thread.

'Edit' found the post here some what was said.

Sorry I've been a bit MIA lately, the whole team has been really busy working on the project and I try not to bump this thread until I have big developments to share. However, since a few questions have come up, I thought I should chime in.

We've had a big breakthrough a few weeks ago and we now have a fully functioning prototype of our hardware platform! It can be transferred to any JAMMA compatible cabinet and is 100% controlled and powered through the standard wire loom. Tentatively we have named the hardware platform "Airframe" but that name may change before the final release. As I've mentioned before, it allows for any independent dev using Gamemarker, Unity and many other middleware platforms to publish straight to this hardware. We are working with a 3D printing specialist right now to develop a custom enclosure for the motherboard. After that we will have all the components ready for our conversion kit.

The plan right now is to include:

100% JAMMA compatible game board (power, controls, sound, coins, etc.)
USB software stick
Control panel overlay (very tough polycarbonate laminate)
Choice of Marquee (each boss has its own dedicated marquee art)
Cabinet side art (vinyl with adhesive backing)
Wall poster (to promote the game in the arcade)

Not really: http://www.skycur...sSkycurser

Maybe 'Turbo Fan' Cthulhu knows something we don't.
But it looks like they are searching for (tech)support to release their game.

They've just finished programming stage 3 and are installing cabs in quite a few arcades in the US. They're still aiming for a release this year. From what I know they also made a big breakthrough in their method of programming, so it'll go a lot faster from now on.

Ahh ok nice one bro can you get some more info on the hardware too please? and is it open Pfft

This is what I can find about the hardware:

AIRFRAME supports any game compiled for x86 Linux or HTML5. GMS is NOT a requirement. Video Support from 240p (CGA) via JAMMA, all the way to 1080p via HDMI (we do not plan on internally developing HD games any time soon). Up to 6 buttons per player, although we plan to use no more than 4 with our games.

Specs:
- Processor aka "Crazy Eddie"- Instruction Set: x86-64 - Cores: four (4) Athlon - Frequency: 1.6 GHz - Cache: 2 MB
- Main Memory- Size: 2 GB - Frequency: 1333 MHz
- Graphics Processor aka "Orwell" - AMD Radeon HD8400 - Frequency: 600 MHz - Graphics Memory: 256 MB
- Sound Processor aka "Blast" - Realtek ALC887

Also footage from stage 3:

Hmmmmm , So i can port my games too it Html5 = Web Gl. But why are they being secretive with the hardware using code names (Crazy eddie & Orwell etc) i rather they were up front and shoot straight. Also it's made with game maker Shock

Thank's cthulhu

It sounded interesting at first but knowing its just a pc in a case that plays web games is a deal breaker for me. I had the impression it was open to make arcade games for cab's being just a pc in essence.I could make my own game, spec a pc to it then make a box then call it vasbox that be essentially what there doing. I don't think many developers would choose this over (pc/mobile or console's). If it don't have exclusive games accept skycurser, what reason do I have to buy exclusive hardware when I could play the same games on pc/mobiles and consoles? I am not bashing skycurser game looks real fun but the airframe Seems strange.

Since there is little info to go by I will withhold final judgment , Since your involved over there Cthulhu, maybe you could ask them for more accurate info, since the specs above was a copy and paste job from shump forum Pfft .

Is there even a price yet?

Pcb looks great. I like the videos on youtube too https://www.youtu...TP3w0hqjDk

Do you like the game cthulhu?

cthulhu
I personally think it's a very nice game, a bit easy at the moment because the secondary weapon (shotgun) is a bit slow but overpowered...that still needs some tweaking and the game has a bug that makes the motherboard reboot during play, which is top priority on the devellopers list of thing to do.

Rebooting issue is very important. I hope they take responsibility and fix it

I saw a video of this a few months back and wasn't that impressed but watching a new video it looks pretty good. Love the graphical style in particular and the animation. The ship's weapons look like a cross between Strider and Blazing Star
